Re: Performance reviews

Performance reviews where I work are a travesty of a mockery of a sham of a mockery of a travesty of two mockeries of a sham. My annual performance review form is due this week, so I was literally working on it today. The way our formal process is supposed to work: (1)At the beginning of the year, m...

I'm an analytical, logical, cold-blooded chameleon. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-VycdME4_8H4/UwCAv4VbpaI/AAAAAAAAD08/4BTkr49X96I/s1600/chameleon-holding-magnifying-glass-trans-copy-200x300.png Except for a crazy strong preference for Thinking (over Feeling), I'm borderline I/E, N/S and P/J. (IN T P)

Re: Are your drawers organized?

My drawers are neatly stacked in a 3x2 arrangement. I found that just leaving them on the floor was impractical.

Now, the drawers in my drawers drawer are most definitely not organized.

Them: I see. What I'd really like to know is your race. Me (exasperated 'why didn't you just ask me that?' look): Filipino with some German and Irish mixed in. ... this confusion has led me to think about why so many are tiptoeing around what should be a fairly straightforward subject... But that e...

Re: Lack of women in music lists

I don't really have good answers to your questions... Maybe it's not an issue of them being under-recognized; it's entirely possible that accurately reflects the makeup of artists in that genre. Perhaps the issue is straight under-representation in music, kind of like STEM. Maybe this is true of oth...

Re: Vasalgel

So far the male contraceptive methods they're experimenting with do not seem promising. Female contraception is so much simpler by comparison because women have a monthly cycle that is hormonally regulated. Men have no such cycle so the interventions are always going to be unnatural and more radica...

^^ Yes to intentionally ripped jeans, fake pockets, and wedge sneakers. I'll add Keep Calm tshirts, asymmetrical shirt tucks, and squared, drawn-on eyebrows (that usually accompany a duck face).

Re: Feminism and pro-life

For pro-lifers the choice is often to just not have sex. "Don't want a baby? Don't sex." I even had one person tell me if a women gets pregnant from being raped that's God's choice and she should except it. The basis of the pro-life debate is that abortions should not be allowed, which in...

Re: Feminism and pro-life

Ok, this may very well be petty semantics on my part, but must pro-life = anti-choice? Just wondering if that's not just falling in the same trap as those who equate pro-choice = pro-abortion... How would you categorize a person who believes in respectfully dissuading others from procuring an aborti...

Ugh. So annoying. I usually try not to show my irritation and respond with something like "Aw, did a feminist hurt your feelings? Do you need a hug?" I know it's not the most intellectual of retorts, but if someone says feminism is a cancer I think it's safe to assume that an intelligent d...

There's a lot to respond to in your post. A few random thoughts: - Regarding the FE, I took it my last semester at school. It's been years since I took it, but my impression is: Sure, technically, you could just study for it and possibly pass it, but even if you do, i don't think it would mean much....

Not exactly. I did boycott a number of "class boycotts" (or student "strikes"?). The so called strikers were just 8-10 people blocking the gates at my closed campus whining about their almost free tuition going up by $10 per credit hr, 95% of students just played hooky on strike ...

I was about 2- or 3-ish. My mom left me in our green Nova for a sec while she ran inside the 7-11 to get milk. Then a giant Tweety bird appeared in the driver's seat and kidnapped me while driving like a madman. It took me a few years to realize this was a memory of a dream, and not something that a...
