Re: have you done yoga?

Yes. Though I've started taking Body Flow instead, which combines yoga, tai chi, and pilates. Really helps after my Body Pump class (yes, I'm crazy enough to tsrke two gym classes back to back).

Re: what's the last movie you saw?

Beauty & The Beast (2017) - The acting and singing are serviceable, but that's about it. The movie is an almost beat for beat remake of the original. Very few changes are made, and out of the ones that are, most of them aren't explored enough or they don't make sense. Also, the original did a mu...

Get Out - It's a satire of the black experience in the form of the suspense/thriller genre. Anyone with an ounce of wit wouldn't take the ending literally and understand it's more like mocking appropriation of black culture by white people. :3houses:.5 It's still pretty good, just doesnt feel like ...

People watching because most parties that are boring are the ones where everyone but me know each other. They've usually already formed cliques and I'm left feeling blocked out from any form of conversation.

Logan - The Wolverine movie everyone was waiting for. More drama than action, but the action was brutal and gory. Good send off for Hugh Jackman. :4houses:

Re: Nerdy bachelorette party ideas?

I'm throwing a bachelorette party weekend pretty soon for one of my best friends from college who's in graduate school for biomedical sciences. Actually, all six of the girls attending the weekend are in some form of biology- or medicine-related graduate program. I'll be the first person arriving a...

^how horror-y is it? I don't really like horror movies, but am intrigued by this description? It's more psychological suspense than straight horror, making you wonder wtf is up with this town. I could actually see someone like M. Night direct a lesser version of this. There's no blood beyond a nose...

Trollhunters It's a cartoon series on Netflix that is from Guillermo Del Toro. This is a world in which trolls do exist but only a certain group are bad. A magical amulet chooses a good troll to protect both trolls and humans. The issue? After the previous trollhunter is felled, it chooses a human, ...

How comfortable do you feel asking about someone's race?

When someone asks me about my race, they do it in an indirect manner that takes three tries to answer the question they're really asking. It usually goes something like this: Them: Where are you from? Me: Lived in Georgia a bit when I was a kid but been in this area most of my life. Them: No, I mean...

The Lego Batman Movie - I must be weird because I think The Lego Movie was a better movie but I liked this one more. It's definitely the best theatrically released spoof movie since The Lego Movie, but that's not really hard to do considering all the terrible parodies out there. I definitely think t...

Do mobile games count? In which case Pokemon Go (woohoo!), Flutter, Splash, Dragons of Berk (no judging) and Neko Atsume. Also Candy Crush and Jelly Splash occasionally, mainly because they don't need a net connection. Also replaying Super Mario on my DS. I went to a party last weekend and we playe...

I think there are some real issues storywise with regard to Ariel and it shouldn't be ignored...I definitely recognize the negatives to her as well. I think there are some real issues storywise with regard to Ariel and it shouldn't be ignored. That said, I do agree with the post on some level. She was an explorer who already had interest in humans. Part of Your World is about how she wanted the chance to be human so she could learn about them (t...

There are women only spaces. This just isn't one of them. I was under the same impression as Sonic, Spacefem is the founder of the place. Fake pockets! Verifying if the pockets are real or not is something I should have to do every time I buy pants. I hate this with my sport coats & dress jackets. Tight jeans. They're useless to me if I can't access the pockets. Yes I don't like high heel sneakers, they look weird, i will never w...

I was thinking of general stranger interactions. I do live in an urban environment where it's not uncommon to double check you're on the right streetcar or how exactly to get to some landmark. Re: Yuck Yuck Yuck - continued from "Ranting"

I don't like the underlying message to this (not assigning intention by the way), which is that women being afraid is unfair to men and women, as if they either shouldn't be afraid or (what might be the end result of this) shouldn't look afraid for the sake of men's feelings. If it is unfair, that'...
