Probably. I've never tried but I'm fairly crafty so I think I could figure it out.

Re: Gender and racial biases in professor's newsvideo

First, this video was hilarious. The woman diving in like a bat out of hell, the excessively happy toddler, the baby rolling in like a boss. All comedy gold. Second, I'm guilty of this. I'm in a mixed race marriage and I regularly get mildly annoyed with assumptions that I'm not with my husband. (I ...

Re: How do you pass time at boring parties?

I try and get conversation going and if that fails I bring out the games. I also nag people who are on their phones bringing down the energy. *cough*Nech*cough* :P

Yes! This movie was so fantastic. I was surprised when it wasn't better represented at the Oscars.

Re: Why are men so ready to complain...

The only way to stop men from being so ready to whine and complain about everything is to take away their privilege. Show them that their privilege doesn't count. Don't let them use it. Stand up to them. And most importantly, teach the next generation of men that they should be helping those who ha...

Re: Lack of women in music lists

Maybe you'll get a song by metric if you're lucky. (Is this Canada specific? How known is metric outside Canada?) I live in the US, and Metric is my favorite band! However, although I have heard them on the radio here, it is definitely not a common occurrence in my area. That being said, they still...

Re: Lack of women in music lists

Not to say they don't exist! My personal current favourites are mitski, buffy st marie, rae spoon, pj harvey, coeur de pirate. But when you turn on a current alt rock radio station you're gonna get a hell of a lot of white boy music. Maybe you'll get a song by metric if you're lucky. (Is this Canada...

Re: Lack of women in music lists

I think of all time lists definitely would make this worse. A new list written by critics of the latest great albums would be slightly better I think. But it's definitely a problem. I'm mostly a rock fan who lately has been gravitating towards female voices and that can be tricky. Not to mention rac...

This is ridiculous. My office is 95% women and it's expanding. No one has been murdered yet. Don't blame shitty leadership on gender.

Re: How comfortable do you feel asking about someone's race?

I don't ask people about that. To be honest I'm usually not that curious? It could have something to do with growing up in a fairly diverse area? But maybe not. It probably also has something to do with the fact that as a white person race becoming salient in a conversation doesn't tend to endear pe...

Re: What are you binge watching right now?

Riverdale is surprisingly good. I wouldn't say binge watching because there are only about 3 episodes so far though. If you enjoyed the original archie comics as a kid (which I did, I would scour garage sales for them) and you'd like to see that American dream suburban ideal get a little dark and di...

I skip whenever possible. As I spend the majority of my life pretending to be a serious adult this doesn't happen as often as I'd like it to.

Those only existed in the 70's.

You need to buy some Mikesell's potato chips

Google is telling me that is not possible in my area.

Please stop doubting a person's credibility as a feminist based on their gender. No one is "running a section called Feminism". Sonic is one of two moderators assigned to that board. Just gonna dive in here and say that I'm a woman. Not that it matters . This question is answered though.

Well this is awkward. I like most of the trends in this thread. Other then high heeled sneakers and shitty pockets. I'm a bit of a closet fashion lover. I only say closet because I'm also super cheap and unfortunately practical so don't tend to buy everything I like.

Re: If you were a piece of furniture what would you be?

I would be that ratty little table you got for $7.00 at a rummage sale, that you refinished, that turned out to be totally gorgeous, so you took it to Antiques Roadshow and they said it would be worth thirteen million dollars in original condition, but since you refinished it, it turns out to only ...
