Just Can't Let It Go

There are parental wars (okay, I admit it, they are mommy wars) all over the internet. If it has to do with pregnancy/infants/children there are people fighting over it. For the most part, I just do not care. As long as your kid is fed, hygienic and untraumatized I figure you're winning. There are s...

Re: uninvited house guests

Silver fish and spiders get a pass. Beetles I generally don't worry about. Haven't had anything bigger to deal with in years (apartment on the 13th floor doesn't lend itself to vermin I guess.) Whoa whoa whoa. Silverfish?? Why? They're the worst. Do they have some redeeming value I don't know about...

Re: do you like your family?

My nuclear family I adore. My Family-of-Origin I love. My dad's side of the family I have nothing to do with, and my mom's side is alright but we're not hugely close (last interaction with my grandma I had was when I got angry at her for sending me a stupid chain mail (those still exist?) about how ...

Re: Unsolicited relationship advice

All your arguments come down to physical strength (and the ability to breast feed)? Okay, EMP happens. I hunt and fish better than any of the men I know. One doesn't need ~much~ strength to now hunt, less the track or fish. But so what? Believe it or not, we do live in a Civilization. Intelligence i...

Re: Unsolicited relationship advice

Again, individuals matter. Equality matters because people should be judged on their merit not their gonads placement. I don't understand your Civilization tangent, it's purpose nor its point. Maybe I should use an anecdote since you seem to take that more seriously. My partner and I have a son. I h...

Re: Unsolicited relationship advice

In several of my Anthropology and Philosophy courses the professors had a saying. "More variation among than between." Basically, you might be able to make huge generalizations, but there will always been just as much variation among a group of people (either race, gender, or sex) than bet...

Frog, pig, shark (dogfish) officially. On my own time with no scientific method I've dissected a starling. And I've cleaned animals before, not particularly good at it.

Re: Unsolicited relationship advice

I like this idea that I've been having sex with my partner for so many years just to get married. It makes me like the world's worst whore. I wonder if there's a metal for that, maybe a trophy. Here's another theory, maybe many people don't want to be partnered to a crude male, and thus the relation...

Re: What career should you have?

It's telling me to be an entomologist or psychologist. Both would be cool. Right now I'm just in a customer service type job. I'd be pretty happy doing just about anything else. Hoping to go back to school next year. After I get my degree I either want to go on and get my PhD and be a professor, or ...

Re: Unsolicited relationship advice

I Googled wife/girlfriend/husband/boyfriend, and found that a lot of people of those genders have trouble with sex. Maybe, just maybe, sexual compatibility is important for many people in a relationship, and you're making too much out of an obsession with phallic desire . What a fantastic turn of p...

Re: Promoting Gender Equality

You're example is an example of how difficult it would be to prove someone is lying. I agree false accusations are terrible, and it'd be cool if there was a way to persecute, but I'm willing to bet a lot of money that there are more unreported rapes than false accusations, and if that's the current ...

Re: What does your ideal bedroom look like?

I had a basement bedroom once that was really big, but painted dark purple and only one small (ground level) window. I effing loved that room. It was big enough for my bed, and a couch and a big stuffed chair. If I had lived there long term I would have added more bookcases and pillows. I love pillo...

Re: Unsolicited relationship advice

Every single woman wether during breakup or in an arguement has crossed said lines. Bullshit. Your list comes across as juvenile because, again, "consideration" is so vague you might as well be saying "The best way to have a relationship is to be two mentally healthy people in a good...

Re: Unsolicited relationship advice

You're still making sweeping generalized statements. Women cross the line more in arguments than men. Not in my experience. Women think physical abuse is okay as long as its a woman beating a man. Citation? The view?! That's ridiculous. Women consider their partners less. Man, lesbian relationships ...

Re: Unsolicited relationship advice

You didn't mention anything that would be outside "consideration". Also the following is very telling I can only give you the male perspective as no I have not 100% figured out women I admit. I'll give you a hint. You can't give THE male perspective. You can give A male perspective. You wi...
