Re: What can on say...

That's so weird that they've taken cancer to be their thing. I understand it is horrible and maybe they can't think of anything worse. But cancer is actually quite interesting as it is the cells of the body losing control and growing rapidly and failing to self-kill when too much. Actually, scratch ...

What can on say...

What can one say when someone you know calls feminism a cancer. Um no, cancer is something completely different that has killed a family friend recently. An ideology that differs from your own rabid patriarchy that you back up with "religion" is not cancer. Fucktard.

Re: Terrorist attack in Berlin

People, I can't anymore. Why does this shit keep happening? This is what happens when you indiscriminately let in people from a part of the world that is notoriously anti-Western, and don't screen them like you should be. If no one has ever watched this video, it pretty much dispels the myth of the...

Re: what are you reading?

The Owl Service by Alan Garner. I remembered reading something like it at my Grandma's a long time ago and found it and downloaded it and am rereading it. There is some troubling stuff in there, but all said by "bad" characters at least.

Activities for 1-3 yo's

Hello! I just started a new job in a nursery where I'm in a class with 11 kids all between 1 and 3. I'm there as an extra helper-outer and to speak English to the kids, but I would like to suggest some fun crafting activities too. These would all have to be run past the teachers anyway to see if it ...

This is very interesting. The focus on the looks, or power position, or even sexual status of one gender compared to the other. You don't really notice that you have it internalised until it's pointed out to you.

Re: Wonder Woman no longer honorary UN Women mascot.

I've seen Winnie the Pooh and Tinkerbell cited a lot in articles about Wonder Woman and the UN. How long did they last? As far as I can find out, Winnie the Pooh is still the ambassador for the Day of Friendship http://www.unric.org/en/latest-un-buzz/26856-international-day-of-friendship and Tinker...

I really feel sad about this. My friends and I were talking about who has most personally affected us this year when they died and for me it's her and Alan Rickman. The world is a little shittier without her in it. I ordered her book the week before as a xmas gift for a friend. *sigh*. And I feel mo...

Re: Do feminists have to be liberals?

This is a really interesting question and I'm going to add to the discussion by adding religion and differing levels that culture and tradition have in varying faiths. I am also going to make gross oversimplifications. I am Jewish and I am a liberal Jew, in some countries that is known as Reform. We...
