I was looking on wikia to read about one of the kid's books that my daughter reads and seriously someone edited something awful into the header of one of the sections.

I couldn't find a way to report it either, though I was on my phone so maybe I'll have to look on the full site later.

WHO DOES THAT TO KIDS BOOKS FFS

I don't know.

The Worst I did is cut out "horse" when taking a picture of the book "Riding a Cock-horse".

Bleh the wikia people sent me a cheerful "this is what's great about Wiki's! You can edit it yourself!"

No shit sherlock, I want you to FIND THE PERSON and BAN THEM. Or at least try to do *something*. It violates the TOS. That's why I reported it.

Things like this make me so upset. There's absolutely NO reason to do that, other than to make someone else feel uncomfortable and shitty. And fuck that response from Wikipedia. Like, we all know we can edit things - that's how this happened in the first place. But shitheads who go around posting gross things on pages, especially pages that kids might look at, need banning. ASAP. Come on Wikipedia, get on this.

Cutting out the word "horse" from the title "Riding a Cock-horse" is hilarious, IMO. Especially if it's in a picture that you're taking aka not necessarily something that people will randomly stumble upon while looking for something else.

It was Wikia, not Wikipedia. I kind of think Wikipedia would have been better about it.

That's really disappointing. :/ They make it sound as if your editing the wiki for content is equivalent to someone else editing it to offend others or amuse themselves. That puts enforcing the terms of service on you, which seems backwards and not at all a good idea.

You should contact the admins of that specific wikia, not the wikia's help center (I assume you meant the help center by "wikia people").

Yeah, wikia has a ton of trolls. It's never pleasant.

@Unvoiced_Apollo That made me laugh real hard. xD

but then how would people look for a bunch of changes by one person? Wouldn't it be easier for the overall site to do a query on the changes by that person?

I don't really think it's necessary to go into specifics.

I just encountered this horrible sexist advertisement while reading the news. I'am a little overweight and have tried different diets and bought books on amazon so I get all the adds for weight loss stuff and how to bake chocolate cakes. :p Anyway today I went on Gawker and found this: Image It just really made me feel like crap. Why would they have this kind of sexist crap on there!
