RIP Jill Saward (Linked to news item)

Postby Tweek » Fri Jan 6, 9:52 2017

Perhaps not a name that will be familiar to people outside the UK but somebody whose actions led to changes in the way rape was treated in the courts and how victims are treated. After being raped in 1986 she later waived her right to anonymity to campaign for changes in the law that give victims great protection.

To my mind somebody who deserves to be more widely known about.

Hi Tweek,

Thanks for sharing this with us. I was completely oblivious this advocate existed, I guess since I'm American? It's such a shame that she passed away at only fifty-one years old.
