INTP. Apparently we're really rare, and yeah, the description sounds a lot like me. Keeping in mind, of course, that answers to questions will always be naturally subjective, and whether you're honest or not it skews any results you might have.
Anybody seen the Penn and Teller's "Bullshit!" Episode on Astrology? This seems to fit the same basic synopsis they had on there: generalized comments will be generally correct about the general population.

INTP high-five!

But yea, I definately think alot of personality descriptions & tests can have several crossovers and are always subject to upbringing, beliefs, mental health, culture, education, etc... or even the mood you're in. Like I sometimes get INTP and sometimes INFP (it happens that every year or so one of my friends will take it, tell me about it, and then I'll take again for fun)

edit: Actually, inspired by this, I read up on INTP & INFP and I'm very much both at the same time. This explains why I want to be an artist AND an engineer...

T and F are frequently swapped due to the whole "mood" thing. For example, if presented with an interesting puzzle I become an ENTP. For example, ask me about my Linux distro.

In high school my too two were the emotional and logical ones, almost evenly matched, followed by intuition and judgment. I'd like to take it again now though to see how things are.

Does anyone know if you can take it for free online?

I'm an INTJ, but sometimes flip to INTP. Once I got an E, but that must have been a fluke.

Interesting. I took this test my senior year of high school and it said I was an INFJ. Three years later and I'm still an INFJ! I remember my psychology teacher being really surprised because I seem so extroverted in class, but really outside of the classroom I'm pretty quiet.

High school result was ESFP. Took it again in two places because the first one seemed weird, and got ENFP both times, with everything being "clearly" in percentage except for N, the one that changed, so I guess I'm really EFP.

I just re-took it and got ENFP. Every description I've read is creepy-accurate, so I guess that's about correct. I'm really intrigued by Myers-Briggs in general; I think it holds some water.

It's very controversial in psychology and studies have shown people change "types" fairly often. One study showed that fewer than half of the people who took the Myers-Briggs after 5 weeks got the same results, another study indicated that some people got radically different results after substantial periods of time between submissions.
Your personal bias is insurmountable in both filling out questions and interpreting results of tests like the Myers-Briggs; you are predisposed to accepting the results because you supplied what created them. External and internal conditions like environment, context, and mood can alter the test, as well. It's more reliable than horoscopes, but shares many of their characteristics, so that's not exactly a glowing recommendation.

Having taken the test about once a year for the past four or so, just re-taking it now has been the first change I've ever had. I've been an ENFJ for as long as I can remember and now I'm an ESFJ. Not that I'm particularly influenced by these tests. I never know if I've answered them really honestly.

ESFP. But the S is just barely, and is sometimes an N.

INFJ. The Introversion is hard-wired, but the F/T and J/P are interchangable depending on the day.

I'm so on the border between E and I, that it's hard to say. I'm probably naturally I but have forced myself to become E so wind up in the middle. I'm far more comfortable in social situations than I used to be.... I pushed the button for ENTJ.
Global warming is intricately tied to the decline in the pirate population. As the pirate population goes down, the average global temperature goes up. Ergo, pirates are cool, and we need more pirates. :pirate: ARRR!

ISTJ. Almost 58% introverted, which I guess is accurate. I don't know about the "Guardian of Time-Honored Institutions" part, but whatev.

I'm an ISTP according to an okcupid test. Interestingly enough another test on the same site said my ideal match would be an isFp which goes along with my idea that I want a woman who is very similar to me.
