i'm missing my tonsils and adnoids, and consequently do not get sick very often, which is upsetting when you want to miss work/school.

Nillerz, you must tell us about your half of a left thumb. was this a military thing?

Wisdom teeth, dammit.

That was a very miserable two weeks of my life.

I got all my bits, they're all in working order. Does phlegm count? I've lost an awful lot of that this past week...

Just my wisdom teeth. I have a friend who mysteriously lost her elbow cap though; she fractured her elbow running the hurdles in a track meet and the tip broke off, and the doctors couldn't find it when they did an x-ray.

Same here, except I get sick all the time. I haven't had strep throat since I had them taken out though!

Hate to disappoint but it's a pre-military injury. I lost it in a knife fight with the gangleader of the Crudes. He got all up in my turf so I took out mah blade and he got his and he knifed my thumb. I won though, that bitch is DEAD.

Just kiddin'. I lost it in a fight with a vertical logsplitter. This is why I prefer mauls.

...May I ask what a vertical logsplitter is, and what a maul is?

(I'm thinking, the logsplitter prolly splits logs. However, I've never cut down a tree... Or been in a woods for at least two years. Damn.)

i only got two wisdom teeth to start with, but they're doing just fine back there, i'll keep them around.

unfortunately, i am missing front teeth. i fell of my bike when I was ten and broke them in half, so the ones you see in smiling photos are not real. they're not even that good, they're some sort of bonding material that i need to have replaced with porcelain but i haven't gotten around to it yet.

Vertical log splitter:

There is a hydraulic ram that slowly pushes a wedge vertically into a log, splitting it. I was adjusting a log and it went off due to mechanical failures, I'm glad I didn't get my hand chopped off.

Splitting Mauls are like this:
Image

They are specially designed wedges attached to a straight handle, usually hickory and occasionally fiberglass. You stand a log on its end and swing down to chop a log. They are not axes, axes are usually thinner, have a curved handle, and are used for horizontally chopping trees (though you can split vertically quite well especially for kindling, though usually a maul has more weight and makes the job easier)

I prefer mauls because apart from the fact that I'm scared of logsplitters now, they are actually faster. They require less work too. I mean, I know it doesn't make sense, but when you're out there dragging logs to a splitter, splitting them, repositioning, and splitting them again, then draggng them off to a pile you start thinking "I wonder how fast it would be just to set up all these logs and go through them and chop them all one by one?"

Answer: Much faster, if you can chop them in a hit or two.

I hope you are enlightened by this in-depth analysis

1) The tip of my right index finger (although it was stitched back on).
2) I have two screws and one plate in my right knee, eight screws and one plate in my right ankle and four screws in my left ankle.

When I was three my father cut the tip of my finger off with scissors. Also, I am technically missing a few parts of my bones. The holes being taken up by the screws mentioned above. The two screws and one plate in my knee was from when I was twelve and shattered my patella. I was sparring in with my opponent (who was an eighteen year old man built like a fucking tree) who used an axe kick on my knee.

The eight screws and one plate in my right ankle was from when I broke it and the four in my left ankle was from where I had to get a knee ligament reconstruction procedure. The soft tissue grafts were secured to bone with sutures tied around screws used as tie-down posts.

Plus, I need to get four wisdom teeth removed.
