most tragic quality for a roommate

The sad bit is, that I've actually taken these from real life. Some of them are me, in fact . . .

Oh god, they're all equally horrible... I went with foul habits, with the morals thing probably coming in a close second. Or eating my food.

I lucked out in the roommate department, though. We've been friends for a couple years and we're pretty low-maintenance as far as living spaces go and we're generally good about keeping the room clean. The only problems we ever have spark from disagreements about how I'm too judgmental or her just being pissy.

I would say "inflicts personal morals" if the definition of "morals" was expanded to include "Arctic temperature needs, hatred of light even to work by, and esteem of my friends as having less of a right to be there than her friends"

Ugh, don't get me started. I'm sick to the back teeth of one of my housemates, I want to kick her. However, next year I am moving back into halls, so wish me luck with that because I could end up with amazing people, or amazingly bad people. Eek.

These are all so awful but I have to go with eating my food and borrowing my stuff. We recently had a massive debacle with a new housemate at our house - she wasn't paying rent, kept taking our food, all while my sister and I were away on holiday. It was so rotten of her.

My roomate and I are very tight, and don't have any real problems. I do however wonder if he isn't happy with our division of labor, when it comes to doing things around the house, I tend to bankroll it and then he does the legwork. He seems happy enough though that I pay for a shitton of things since I make more than him, so I don't think it's a problem.

passive aggressiveness.

although I imagine some of those other ones would be pretty bad too.

Hurrah for owning my own home :) However, from past experience, I hate the whole 'not doing their share of the cleaning/ paying' type thing. Drove me nuts that I was the only one doing any housework...
