I am taking anti-inflammatories for the second time in a month. Boo-hiss! This is probably the third time in my entire life that I have ever taken prescription meds...they are irritating the hell out of my tummy.
What was once before you - an exciting, mysterious future - is now behind you. Lived; understood; disappointing. You realize you are not special. You have struggled into existence, and are now slipping silently out of it. This is everyone's experience. Every single one. The specifics hardly matter. Everyone's everyone.

Birth control is the only long-term thing I have going now. I sometimes get short prescriptions for yeasts and UTIs and whatever, but currently under normal circumstances that's it.

I used to take anti-depressants but I got into drug treatment and used Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for the combination of depression and substance abuse.

I still drink a little bit and occasionally get depressed but not at all in the same way I used to and I find it easy to apply the techniques and basically just shift myself into a different gear. That's not to say that medications don't work, they just didn't work for me personally because of other issues.

Thinking about my anti-depressant prescription lately. I only really need them when I'm PMSing because, somehow, in my adulthood just before menstruating I become suicidal. This never used to be the case. When I was younger I wouldn't act differently before my period. It had no effect on me emotionally. But now I just go batshit insane and self-direct so much seething hate. It took a while before I realized it went along with my cycle.

I'll bring it up when I go see my doctor for a prescription renewal.

I take a thyroid pill, and I will take it everyday for the rest of my life.

I take neurological meds to prevent headaches. I've been on this medication for four and a half years. I hope, and my doctor thinks it's realistic, that I will be able to get off them within the next year or two, and be headache-free. I'm also on the birth control pill, if that counts.

I take loratadine for my hayfever and a preventative for my asthma. I have been for years, but I should prolly try and wean myself off them; I don't like being dependent on medication.

I no longer need prescription medications thanks to herbal medicine. I'm not talking over the counter stuff, but visiting a trained herbalist.

I'm on birth control (Cerazette) and sometimes take Loratadine in the summer for hayfever (although that's not really prescription - or rather, you can get it on prescription but the doctor says "you know, buying it over the counter is actually cheaper ...")

ETA: anti-hayfever stuff is SO CHEAP in the UK. £1/week if you buy the cheapest / buy when there are BOGOF offers on which there often are. I have vague memories of being in NZ and it being really expensive.

I don't take anything. Save for the acne medication I took all through high school and part of college, I've not ever had any prescriptions that have lasted longer than a couple of weeks.

Not on anything right now. Probably should be on acne meds and antidepressants, but neither has really ever helped much.

I'm planning to be on birth control until they make some kind of single-use baby-maker-nuke.

I'm also on antidepressants at the moment. We'll see if they stick.

I'm on birth control, that's it. I haven't been on any other prescription drug probably since I started college. Oh...well I did have nose-drops for my allergies, but now they've turned over-the-counter so yeah, nothing else.

Absolutely nothing at the moment. Have been on the pill on and off for most of the past 7 years and will probably go back on soon because my skin is nicer when I'm on it.

I've taken various antibiotics over the years too, but nothing long term.

I picked no, but I have been before because I forgot about my birth control. I'm not sure if it counts as prescription medication anyway (I have an implanon). I have been on various short-term prescriptions before, though (steriods, antibiotics, antihistamines).

I've been trying to clear up my acne and finally went to a dermatologist (because, srsly, almost 25 and still having acne is not cool), and so I'm on a twice daily medication to try and curb the acne.

I also have an as-needed inhaler for the reactive airway disease (which is basically asthma, but it's not constant).

But I'm off the birth control because we're trying to have babies!! :D
