D&D/Pathfinder Classes...

Postby MFS » Sun Oct 9, 20:37 2016

I blame Neko for this poll. That, and I'm running a campaign again for my oldest son's friends, so I'm knee-deep into the game again...

Of the very many classes available to D&D/Pathfinder, which one would you want to be and/or think best fits who you are now? Choose two and comment below. Or don't comment below. See if I care. See if I show up randomly outside of somewhere you are, waiting to pounce upon you for YOUR LACK OF COMMENT. Yeah, totally.

Don't know what a particular class is? Read about it.

Say hello to my Magus and alternate personality, Alleria! Honestly one of the most fun classes I've played across DnD/Pathfinder. If I was to star in a fantasy movie, it'd be as a Magus.

I am definitely not a bard. I should never play a bard. Bad things would happen.

I think right now I'd be a swashbuckler, but choosing is hard. :P

IRL I have a music degree from Bard College. Sometimes I remind myself of this when I wish I could be a fantasy adventurer.

I almost always tend to play speedy/sneaky/knifey characters so I also voted for Rogue. Magus is way cool though because I'm hype for physical/magical hybrid characters.

I really enjoy the 5th edition Bard. Finally a full-fledged caster and the ultimate support class (College of Lore Ftw) as bard is meant to be, in the context of D&D.

Sorcerer is also good.

I also chose these two classes because I like having magic and I don't have to do any bookeeping preparing spells I can cast for the day. Instead, If I know 'em, I can cast 'em.

I think my dude is a paladin. His name is Kevin and he hits people with a shovel. I'm in it for the comedy.

I went with Magus and Rogue. Because, looking at the skill set, I am pretty much a rogue... but I certainly wouldn't mind being a magus. Swords and spells? Spells cast through your sword? Hellz yeah.

First I picked Skald because I know what that is from studying Old and Middle English. I could be a storyteller, historian, and poet. I'll heal and inspire the party with my stories. I can drop a good pun.

If I were in a fantasy world, I like to think I'd be a good wizard, but in some ways I'd prefer to be a fighter. I fence and would probably feel more comfortable with a sword than anything else. I might also pick a hybrid class that allowed some degree of study or learning, like Cleric (though goodbye sword in some editions).

My first character is a sorcerer and I've only played a few sessions. But I play casters in any game where it's an option. There's just something about being a glass cannon that frequently runs away screaming in order to survive that fits my personality.

I have a warlock in reserve in case of the very likely event that my sorcerer dies. She's going to be a yandere cultist who just wants Hastur-senpai to notice her.

As a tangent, do not get on my Wizard's bad side:

http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showsing ... tcount=333

A little background: We're a team tasked with investigating an uptick in crime and were greeted by this Waelvur, who proved to be a pretty racist prick. We opted to ignore his comments, figuring we'd start too much trouble. Our investigation eventually led us back to him, at which time he kept being a racist prick even during his capture.

My character is reacting the his most racist comment, & that was my character at his limit.
