Are there any here besides me? I've been a Linux system administrator for almost 11 years.

Is that on your PC or on a server? Which distro do you use?

I do astrophysics research. But I have to maintain my own research computer because IT won't touch the linux stuff. Which is fine, really, I don't need their fingers in my computer. ;)

I hear computer science is worse than physics, even, in terms of # of women. Lately at least, CS used to be a lot better. There's a book called Gender Codes that I found was a good read. Well, inasmuch as reading about gender inequality is not fun. But useful and validating sometimes.

I'm a software developer (web mostly these days, C#, ASP.NET). I am the only female in my department! Though there are only 8 of us. In my degree there were 3 females out of 200 students.. so it is an improvement on that.
