the 2yo is calling everyone poopybutt.

it's weird that she only knows scattered words and is barely putting them into sentences, but she picked up on insults!

the 5yo went to kindergarten WOO HOO!

^I love little kid insults. My four year old used to call everyone Poopy McFarty McPants, and then laugh like he was the cleverist person to have ever lived.
Come, Maurice. What's a simple bite on the buttocks among friends? Here -- give me a nibble!

My 17 month old walked two days ago. Hasn't walked since then, but it's still a relief.

It's not my baby, but my sister taught my best friend's baby how to fist bump and I taught her how to say yolo. Heh.
Ugh, I'm tired of my signature.

Baby just had his first (half) day of daycare today, while I had my first morning back at work! They said he did well, we sent the right amount of food, though he did poop all over himself somehow and they already had to use the spare outfit we sent.

In the past week he has discovered my hair and likes to stroke it while he eats. He's also gotten much better with his aim at getting his fist/thumb/fingers into his mouth.

And I've been meaning to post pictures, I suppose this is as good a place as any -- he was 8 weeks old on Saturday, I'm so slow!

Here he is in our favorite blankie that I bought from Spacefem a while back, his halloween costume, and my two favorite photos of him so far :)

(I know, a lot! I couldn't choose just one (or two, or three, apparently). Hopefully I made them small enough that they don't annoy anyone...)

He's so adorable!!!! I love his little fox costume, and that towel that kind of looks like it's eating his head but he also looks super happy about that. And his cute little face.
Bork is too lazy to bother thinking up a witty signature. :polarbear:

Aww cute baby!

My nephew likes to yell "holy potatoes on toast!" when something dramatic happens. Like an outhouse smelling a lot. Or when nothing has actually happened. It's hilarious. I may be an enabler on this one.

My 12 week old is managing to grab things held in front of her (some of the time) and stick them in her mouth.

I met a new baby (well, 8 weeks baby of a friend) the other day and she did her first proper puke on me. Her mother was proud :P

My two year old started doing two things this week: 1) waking up at 4:30am demanding television, and 2) asking to see almost every woman's "boobies."

^Sleeping through the night is awesome! You must be pretty thrilled.

My almost 6 month old has started dragging herself around on her tummy. Not crawling, more like a belly shuffle. It's pretty fun to watch, but also a very clear indicator that we need to pick up our efforts with childproofing the house.

Nice to see this thread resurrected. :) Our one-month-old is getting really good at holding the bottle while eating, or at least propping it up at about the right angle.

ablotial I missed your post from October but ZOMG I forgot you had that blanket, I am so happy to see it in an adorable photo! That was my first etsy sale if I remember correctly. love!

my two year old's latest catchphrase is "all my life!" and I have no idea where she got it but it's ridiculous. I'll tell her to stop eating her sister's pony heads or something and she lets out this heavy sigh and says "ugh... all my life!"

she's obsessed with my measuring tape, that's fun.

we moved her out of the toddler bed into the bottom bunk bed so now the girls room is totally like a big girls room, whoh.

the kindergartener is doing great, she reads to me now, simple three-letter "learn to read" kind of books, but it's amazing what she's sounding out! she writes too... but dang, fuck english. she'll ask me these questions like "why does Olive have an e at the end of her name?" and I'm like... uh, english, I guess. no good logical answers for anything.

^ Incidentally I have a college level lecture for why Olive and lots of other words have e's at the end. Fuck English indeed.

My 10 day old baby boy peed on my husband. And the changing pad. And the floor. Pretty much everywhere.

Kit (12 weeks) grabbed a toy and shook it! And they're making really good progress at bringing things to their mouth and nomming on them. But even when they succeed at it they get very frustrated. "I'm sucking my fingers and food isn't coming out! Why would I suck on my fingers if they didn't make food? But I keep wanting to suck on my fingers! Ugh!"

Boy is 11 weeks now and he just rolled from tummy to back. Considering he hasn't shown much interest during tummy time (usually just lays with his face on the floor and drools), it came as a surprise. After a wobbly first roll he did it smoothly three more times before deciding he'd had enough.

Ooh, nice! Kit (now 5 months) has just figured out rolling from side to front, though they can't do it consistently yet. Front to back is probably a ways away, since we never bothered with tummy time.
