Let's see... I've been running this site since I was 18, in one form or another. I like php. I live in Kansas. I'm allergic to cats. I work in the aircraft industry. I sometimes dream that I'm falling. I don't feel like I read enough books.

I think I'm pretty sweet cause I existed in the '80s for 12 days. I'm obsessed with buying fruity gum. My favorite bands are Sanctus Real, Anberlin, Mae, Copeland, and Something Corporate/Jack's Mannequin. Band is my life. I'm in love with attractive, male snaredrummers (10 extra points if they come with blue eyes). I love shopping at H&M, Urban Outfitters, and Delia's. I'm Christian, and my faith is a big deal to me, so just deal with it people. I play sax, piano, percussion (marching snare!), guitar, and I can figure out most anything else you put in front of me. I'm really weird and I sort my food before I eat it so I can eat it in a certain order. Frank Sinatra is super cool. So is Duke Ellington. My favorite composer is Eric Whitacre, but sometimes I think my favorite composer is David Holsinger or Samuel Hazo or Jack Stamp (we're talking instrumental music). Spaghetti-O's are delicious straight from the can. And now I hope I just enlightened you a little...Huzzah.

And my greatgrandpa was in the Mafia. He's dead now though.

And uh, I'd write more but I don't feel like whoring myself right now. I'm tired. It's time to go make sleepy.

I'm 18, and I've been on this site for a while. I still don't know how I ended up in a feminist forum, but I can only put it down to astrological happenings or just that I'm awesome. I like music, I play guitar and am in many shit, crappy bands that go nowhere, and thats the way I like it. My favorite bands are At The Drive In, The Mars Volta and The Flaming Lips. I have a weird fascination with Ben Folds as well. I am constantly being a n00b. I wear tight jeans and I look good in them, baby. I am a mongoose. I love reading, playing chess with my grandfather and being beaten by him. My interests include art, graphic design, and graffiti. I hope to one day beat MFS in an arm wrestle. And that is pretty much me in a nutshell.

I've been riding horses since I was 8 years old - my parents started giving me lessons because they thought it was a phase I'd grow out of. I haven't ridden regularly in way too long, but I still haven't 'grown out of it'!

I love to read, especially scifi/fantasy and I love to write - mostly poetry, a few plays, but I used to do prose (I have done NaNo once, plan on doing it again AND WINNING BABY). I'm about to get into a freelance editing course which I'm rather excited about.

I don't have a favourite color and I've been to 8 different schools. I was on the drama team at my church for 4 years, which was great fun and helped me boost my confidence a lot - I used to be painfully shy. I know 2 Spacefemmers in RL - Camulus (my boyfriend, not active any more) and Adamaniac/Fuzzbucket, we went to school together for 3 years and go to church together.

I wish I knew how to cook, dance, play the piano, and do capoeira. I plan on learning these things slowly over the next few years. I would also like to do archery and rock climb, get back into horseriding and write (and possibly record) a song.

Most important thing to note about me - I am ginger. And all the stories are completely true, I definetely have the temper to go with it. You won't make the mistake of crossing a redhead twice, believe me. I'm not clinically insane, but I am clinically "slightly psychologically unstable", which doesn't really have the same ring to it...

I love music - listening, singing, playing, composing, all that jazz (and folk and metal and rock and classical and musicals and many things in between). I love singing in choirs and doing ensemble stuff 'cause I think it's pretty cool to work together with other people and produce something that sounds good.

Other than that... I'm far too tactile and I love hugs. I enjoy gazing in awe at many forms of art, but I really have no talent whatsoever when it comes to the visual arts. CSS is my friend and when I get sad, I get a bit geeky, but hey, I reckon that's a totally healthy coping mechanism.

I'm also British, which means that yes, I will insist upon inserting letters (mainly u's) into places that people from certain other places may think are unneccessary.

I'm a college student studying history and sociology. I go to school in New York City, which is my favorite city in the whole world. One of my goals is to study abroad in Sweden. I enjoy reading books. My favorite historical figure is Alexander Hamilton. I love sports. I am obsessed with hockey and baseball. I've always been fairly insecure and shy, but recently I've grown more confident and outgoing. I love listening to so-bad-its-good music. I am very attached to my Arrested Development and Band of Brothers dvds. I have, over time, come to love and enjoy my curly hair. I also love and enjoy being taller than all of my female friends, and some of my male friends as well.

I'm an astronomer. I like looking at the sky, and shiny things in general. I went to Carleton College so you can ask me about that anytime (it's awesome). I like cats and dogs, and horses, and fluffy things. I read way too many comics in my morning routine. I do Aikido, a Japanese form of budo which is often styled a "martial art" but it's really less killing and maiming and more towards harmony. Sometimes I fail at the "harmony" part in my everyday life, and I feel bad about that. I have a very strong sense of right and wrong, but I try to see everyone's point of view and give them the benefit of the doubt. Sometimes that doesn't work. I'm married to the cutest guy in the world. *swoon*
Global warming is intricately tied to the decline in the pirate population. As the pirate population goes down, the average global temperature goes up. Ergo, pirates are cool, and we need more pirates. :pirate: ARRR!

I'm an artist masquerading as a programmer. This only works because I do, in fact, have a great love of technology. I adore building, upgrading, and fixing computers, be it with hardware or software. Recent additions to my collection that make me happy include a 200 GB hard drive and Windows Vista RC1. ZOMG, so much shininess with Vista. Not good for a computer without prodigious amounts of memory, but I built my computer with graphics and animation in mind, so it all works out. Which leads me to the next point, where I have a dream of working for Pixar one day. I love modeling characters, I love textures, lighting, animating, the whole deal. It's something I would do for fun, and I currently get credit for it. Not only do I get credit for it, but hopefully someday soon someone will pay me to do it. In my spare time, I like drawing, reading, writing, and making professional-grade costumes. I work at the costume shop here at Oberlin College, and it's mad loads of fun. I'm getting paid to improve my craft, and being instructed by someone who's incredibly good at what she does. So much love. :)

I'm a geek, plain and simple. I've been using computers since I was 5 when I started programming BASIC from a textbook into my Amstrad 464 CPC. Nowadays I know several programming languages including C, C++, Python, Ruby, Assembler for various microcontrollers and a bit of C#. I can easily build computers from parts and upgrade them.

I'm trained as an computing and electronics engineer and have dabbled in robotics and telematics, but I just like messing around really and electronics is just a hobby for me. Professionally, I am a Ruby on Rails developer, have been for a year and I'm loving it.

I love all kinds of music from black symphonic metal to j-pop, from industrial trance to classical. I tend to dislike most stuff you hear on the radio, the 'mainstream' hip-hop and pop I find annoying at best and insulting to my intelligence at worst.

I hope to learn the drums, but I doubt I will ever be good if I ever do get a kit.

I like writing and reading, I have hundreds of books and have several half-finished novels laying around on my computer.

I am a Linux and open source enthusiast.

I hate political correctness, restrictions of freedom in the name of 'protection' and willful ignorance. I belive in equality for all and hate all the narrowminded bigots and hypocrits that taint the world with their hatred and ignorance.

I'm in love in DruidX, have been with her for 5 years, lived with her for 8 months and am looking forwards to being her husband.

I'm a soon-to-be college student. I love computers and the internet. I started to learn HTML last year and I'm taking an online class for it, but I HATE JAVASCRIPT (because I don't understand it). I used to play golf for my HS, but that ended suddenly mid-season this year due to crap. Clarkie is an alumnus of my HS.

I enjoy speaking Spanish, and am in my 5th year of it. I plan on majoring in it as well as business, hopefully at University of Evansville next year.

I've been on this site since mid-2004, so needless to say, its been awhile. Don't ask how I got here. I haven't been here much lately with the major courseload I'm taking this semester and too much homework.

I love My Chemical Romance ,Green Day, rap& hip/hop but I don't look like it. Pretty much, I'll listen to anything on the hits station, RadioNow.

O and I drive a crappy-butt '89 Acura Legend. It goes from here to there, and back to here.

I'm Kate.
Currently I go to school at St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN. However, my family lives in between Virginia Beach and Williamsburg.
I was homeschooled until I was 16, when I graduated high school and went to a community college for three semesters.
I enjoy correct grammar and punctuation.
I play the harp.
I sing (Alto I).
I like pretzels.
I joined this site in late 2004, but began lurking 2 or 3 years before that.
I get very offended when people use the word 'retarded'.
I like brushing my teeth.
My dorm room is a mess.
I am addicted to caffeine.
I like getting piercings, but my parents would disown me if I got any *visible* ones.
I like Spanish poetry.
Music-wise, everything except most country and pop. I don't rule out anything until I've heard it. Metal and classical are my two favorites.
I love to read, mostly fantasy and fiction, but I don't really have enough time now that I'm in school.
:)

I just read over this, and it's not very accurate anymore, so I'm going to attempt to update it right now.

Here goes:

I just asked my cousin, and she said I should put that I think out the box and that I'm a FMILF. (Future Mother I'd Like to Fuck.) I agree with the first sentiment, but not the second, because I really don't want kids and would like to avoid that whole process. But if for some reason I get knocked up, I will be naming the offspring Ziggy, regardless of gender.

I have a hamster. Her name is Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, and she is adorable. As Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds is a mouthful, I generally just call her Lucy, or Lucille.I also have a fish named Sgt. Pepper. He's a beta, and he's lived at school with me until I decided at Christmas to let my sister watch him until I came home for the summer. In my mind, I like to imagine that Sgt. Pepper and Lucy are great friends.

I love music. I sing and play guitar. At one point in time I was a lot better at both, but things like school and work have really put on a damper on practicing in the past year or so. Eventually, I would like to put together a band, but I don't see that being a possibility any time soon. I also love listening to music, and I have very broad musical tastes, like from James Taylor to Crime Mob to Kings of Leon to Bob Dylan to Fergie.

Another of my loves is comedy, in various forms. I'm also really into movies, photography, and drinking.

Well, that's probably a lot more than you needed to know.

I play bassoon. And that's about the most important thing about me.

Live in Michigan, all around music dork. Compeditive marching band, jazz band, regular band, winter drumline, musical pit, various youth ensembles, etc.

Cats and any kind of detective/drama show, no matter how cheesy, are always a win. Partial to: Any CSI, Cold Case, Criminal Minds, Law and Order: SVU. I miss my kitty.

I never know how to describe myself to people. Lessee... I am really shy around people I don't know. This hasn't been a tremendous problem for me, but I always really hated in school when they made you give presentations before classes. Not because I was afraid of public speaking, but because I just... hated... to talk. I never, ever wanted to talk. I don't know what was up with that, but I still have that problem a bit. It's gone away some since I've joined spacefem but I have a terrible time of dealing with ordering food in restaurants. I always make my parents order food for me.

I really enjoy learning things. Except for math. But anyways, I like figuring out how things work, learning the systems of things and just absorbing information. You wouldn't know it though from all the simple things that I haven't a clue about. History was one of my favorite subjects in school because there is a lot of random stuff to learn about. Unfortunately I have a habit of quickly unlearning everything I know. I love to read, especially fantasy. I've not read most of the big current authors though, it's actually been a while since I've read a lot. I'm starting to get more back into it but I still spend a lot more time on other stuff.

I am an avid gamer, I play pretty much all varieties of games of the computer and console variety. I'm also starting to get into tabletop gaming a little, but I need a lot more money before I can really do that.

I am frequently described as a huge nerd. I love cute things, scaring people, and being silly. And I think I'll stop here.

I still haven't decided what to do with my life. I don't want to be a responsible adult.

I like a lot of different music, but right now anime music is my favouirte. I also have some odd tastes, such as electric folk [Steeleye Span], medieval [Medival Babes] and cheesy dance pop [Aqua].

I dislike wearing make-up, but I do like dressing up and going out, even if it's just to the pub or cinima. I like drinking. I like real ales, but beacuse of allergies, I can't drink that anymore. I am also partically fond of spirtis, my faviourites being port, Morgan's Spiced rum and tequila [from mexico - english import stuff is not nice]. I dislike whisky and gin. A lot.

I like reading sci-fi and fantasy, but don't really get enough time for that these days. I also like reading manga and western comics. My favourite authors include Neal Asher, Terry Prattchet, Terry Goodkind and Spider Robinson.

I like using linux even thought sometimes it confuses me. I like that it's free [as in beer] and that no one is forcing me to use cirtain applications. I like the range of choice there is aviable in terms of applications. I like going to meet my local Linux User Group. I like hearing Darkliquid talk about his work, even though I don't understand most of it. I'm not a coder, though some estranged part of my mind would like to be. I would like to contribute to the Free/ Libre Open Source Software community, and to that end I came up with the idea for OpenContribution.org.

I like watching Sci-Fi, detective shows [like Bones] and soft horror on TV. Currently I'm watching Lost, Bones, NCIS, Heroes, Supernatural and The Ghost Wisperer. I also like watching anime, but I haven't really had time for that lately. My faviourte anime is Cowboy Beebop. I wouldn't really consider myself a Trekkie or a Star Wars person, but I do like some aspects of both. I think my faviourite move though is Mystery Men.

I have asthma, and severe to medium intolerances to gluten, dairy, eggs, honey, soy, some meats, cats, some dogs, other furry or feathered creatures, tree pollen and grass pollen. These variously, bring me out in a rash, out in a fit of coughing [prolonged or otherwise], make me feel sick and bloated and make me feel like I'm going to die.

I also love writing, but again, haven't been doing much lately. I've taken an correspondance course in short story writing that took me 3 years to complet. I still haven't recived my overall grade, but never got less than a B [I can't decide if this is a refelection of my talent, or of how easy the course is]. I love participating in National Novel Writing Month, and hope to carry on doing so for many years to come. I mostly write sci-fi these days, mainly about a world I created called 'the MOW Files' and two characters who live there, Asuka Rakell and Gurn Tepper.

I also quite like doing crafts, but only get inspired to do it every once in a while. I particually like decorating boxes and doing cross-stich. In my time though, I've quilled, done parchment crafts, silk painted, glass painted, glass etched, made cards, done beadwork on a loom [and those are only the one's I can recall].

Darkliquid and I have been together almost 5 years, and we've lived together for 8 months now. We still haven't set a wedding date, but I'm steaming ahead planning it anyway.

I guess, in short, you could generally say I'm a geek, but with a few interesting faccets :)

Edit: I also feel like I've written more than everyone else added together :nervous:

I like words, mostly. Writing, reading, speaking, words make me happy. Writing makes me very happy.

I also like to dance. I like to draw, but only in blue. I like to make videos.

I like doc martens and I like hiding behind glasses. I like to dress in black from the skin out. I like my hair.

I don't like to eat. I think it's disgusting, and I avoid it as much as I can. I'm a vegetarian. I like to bake but I dont love cake so much. I don't like my little sister, but I love her.

I'm scared of most men, I'm a little afraid of most females, and I hate to feel vulnerable. I'm gay, but I don't know whether thas because of the scared of men thing.

But mostly the word thing. Thats important.
If I bang my head against a brick wall five times and get five lumps, why am I surprised when I bang it a sixth time and get a sixth lump?

I'm 14. I feel guilty for not reading all the other profiles immediately, but there are five minutes to the end of tech as I write this.

I've been a member for a little over a year, but have managed a pretty sweet post count anyway.

I found this site by accident when I was nine, on Neopets. Neopets didn't stick around, Spacefem did.

My mom's a professional feminist.

I'm a vegetarian, and a mostly-lesbian, and that kicks ass.

Music is my life. I'm completely serious, it is.

I'm not remotely physically flexible.

Whatever I don't hate, I love.

I have a lot of trouble describing myself on here. I can never get it to sound right.

I love understanding and learning things. Especially people-related things. People fascinate me, and I hope to become a psychologist.

I have some amazing friends who I truly appreciate. I like to let them know this.

I am something of a perfectionist.

A lot of people think I'm crazy, but that's just because I'm fairly outspoken. Also, I can be rather melodramatic at times. I really hate being repressed and being controlled.

I adore words. Even making them up, despite the fact that I am a Grammar Nazi. I consider myself to be a creative sort of person. I love writing and drawing, and it would be awesome if I could earn money doing it.

I play the sax. I love it. I want to keep playing and playing until I'm not a noob!

I draw.

I'm constantly searching.

I'm Kirstie & I'm turning 16 in a few weeks.
I'm still at school although at the end of this year I'm gonna have to work out what I want to do with my life.
One thing I'm passionate about is travelling.
I've been to many countries in Europe though I don't feel like I've travelled nearly enough.
I plan to take a gap year after I finish school & visit my family in the US & South Africa.
Hopefully, If Scotland get into the World Cup in SA, I'll be going.
Speedway is also a major part of my life.
Although I currently don't have the funds to start myself.
My favourite bands (at the moment) are Reuben, The Long Blondes, Dan Sartain and The Cribs.
I play bass; though I've kinda given that up recently 'cause school's become so demanding.
I also love horse riding, & have done since I was 9.
My weekends comprise of me going into the city centre with my mates.
It's more or less a central meeting place 'cause my mates come from all over Glasgow; & everyone seems to congregate there.
Weekends are what I live for. Sounds stupid, but true.
It's the only chance I get to see my mates who aren't at my school.
So, eh, yeah, that's more or less it. . .

I am getting a degree in mathematics and an education in being a generalist. I am a boy in love with a girl, with some first-hand sense of what it means to be queer. I like grammar, technology, pretty things, food, drink, my family (both biological and assembled), my cat, politics, people in general, getting inside heads, being wise, being rash and putzing around the forums here.

I speak English, French, and a bunch of geek dialects in both. I am a benevolent atheist with Discordian, Pastafarian and Invisible Pink Unicorn leanings. I am socially liberal, vehemently secularist, and fiscally careful.

I get involved in lots of stuff and am more likely to be overwhelmed and borked than just bored if you find me doing nothing for an afternoon.

OMG!!!

I love Alexander Hamilton so much! Aaaah.

Also, what college in Manhattan do you attend? I didn't know you were a fellow New Yorker!
