Health!

Yeah, I posted a health poll before. But I had stupidly listed all of the meaningless things, and got throughly chewed out by MFS....:(

So, I'm here to retify that mistake!

My mental health is always gonna be at the top of the list. If I don't take care of that, my physical health and my "social" health go down down down down doooown :(

Schizophrenia tends to affect a lot of things.

Mental health, to be sure. I've injured myself in numerous ways, but I would honestly rather keep my mind in solid shape than my body. My body is going to fall apart by the time I'm thirty. :P

Mind over matter.

See what I did there? Yeah, I know, you wish you thought of it first. Thus why I value my mental health over my physical.

Well the question could be answered in multiple ways. I definitely would put my mental health at the utmost priority, except that my mental health doesn't need any maintenance, so I would spend more time thinking about physical health.

Why not?

Are you that sure of yourself not developing dementia or Alzheimer's or other mental/ cognitive disorders in the future?

I've looked after long term patients with Alzheimer's who were only in their 40's when they first developed it, and since then I've done one really hard crossword puzzle a day. Just to keep the cogs greased. I also used to help their recovery by reading out the questions for them to answer!

When I was in therapy during my last schizophrenic episode I did three entire books of those brain puzzle books and the doctor's themselves have said that doing them was probably the most healing thing I could have done for my brain apart from taking my medication at the correct dose :)

Love yo' synapses, peeps!

Well I assume in the future it will. However, being my current age I don't think I'll have to worry about it for a while.

If I don't feel good in my mind, my body will turn to shit and social life disintegrate. It's possible to be in alot of pain but be happy. It's hard to be in a depressive funk and feel physically good.

I generally don't take as much care of myself as I should. I tend to assume since my mental health is basically shot to hell, I focus on just existing.
If I bang my head against a brick wall five times and get five lumps, why am I surprised when I bang it a sixth time and get a sixth lump?

All of my health is important to me. If I feel like total shit I can go cheer myself up, but I like to do that by wandering around outside or longboarding or being with my friends and I can't do that if my physical health is shot.

I'm constantly having issues with my mind, so at the present stage, I'm more worried about my mental health. I've had tonnes of issues in the past, so mental health comes first.

Plus, I'm quite healthy in the physical part.

Wow, this is such a very very long ago poll. Where's MFS?

And truth to be told, I value my mental health, but physical goes up there. Still, I read about this person who had full blown Alzheimers before doctors really knew what it was, and it was very sad how he had to forget everything and then die. Even his physical health didn't save him from it.

Mental health before physical health. It is so important to have a sane mind and a strong one at that in this world. I am also a strong believer in mind over matter and with that, a strong mind can manipulate the body into keeping it from falling to peices. Physical health comes second. Social health can go to hell, though I rely on social health being who I am. I can live in my mind if all else fails.

I do not give a shit about my physical health, I am too cynical, morbid, sadistic and lazy to even attempt at having a social life and what mental health? I am positive that I am not all there. But then again, who is?
