What You Should Know

There have been posts on here of other people's lists of what a person should know but I wanted to know what all of us here on spacefem think we should know. This of course is knowledge about anything or anyone.

Here's a few of mine:

1. How to Cook (at least very basics of how to tell when meat is done, how to cook pasta, some basic baking)
2. How to sew (hand sew at least to fix holes and rips in clothing)
3. How to read a map
4.How to do a proper search on the internet
5.Manners!
6.How to swim (dog paddle inculded)
7.How to ride a bike
8.Basic first aid
9. Get stains out
10. Able to read roman numerals
11. My random quotes and references (there's too many sources for this one ranging from movies, shakespeare, cartoons, web findings, other authors, etc...just tired of explaining my quotes and references *sigh*)
12. How to Tip (Who and what percent)

I can do two of the things on your list!

As far as I'm concerned you need to be able to;

1. Dance (not necessarily well)
2. Laugh at yourself
3. Think your way out of difficult situations

my list is extensive but to just add to yours I will say

1.drive-(standard & automatic)
2. you said search the internet but I think that needs to be -set up and use a computer- instead
3. self defense- with weapons & without
3. basic camping- including fishing & hunting.

so far I can do everything on the lists except any kind of driving.

1. cook nutritionally complete meals for yourself.
2. be semi multi-lingual in languages that are spoken around you. for instance, I can name basic fruits and veggies and grains and money in spanish because I live in a primarily spanish speaking part of town next door to a produce mart. without knowing some spanish, I couldn't eat.
3. use basic tools including their power tool equivalents.
4. dress for a multitude of occasions and know when each style is appropriate.

I can do EVERYTHING so far yessss.
I don't have my license, but I learned on a standard. I also only know basic self-defense, but it's something.
Oh. I've never hunted, but I've fished, and hunting is not something that appeals to me in the least. But my other camping skills are top notch.

I can't do long division

I can't do long division either, Pyro, don't feel bad. I never did get it, no matter how many times anyone explained it to me. Algebra, sure, bring it on. Logarithms, mmmmok, but long division? Noooooooooo.

1. Cook some kind of food (I can make scrambled eggs, pancakes, and cook pasta, etc.)
2. How to do basic cleaning (dishes, toilet, etc.)

That said, I can do most on GOTR's list. I can't drive though. Thanks for throwing out my birth certificate, mum. (I should get another one in two weeks or so, all the way from NSW).

having a drivers license is not what I meant. you just need the ability to operate the vehicle from point A to point B.
A license is not necessary.
oh, and add changing a flat tire to the list.

Can't drive anyway. I'm getting my licence soon, though, once my freaking birth certificate comes through.

And I scratch my list.

People my age should be able to fucking read outloud. HONESTLY. If you have some kind of speech impediment or learning disability, that's fine. But you're 17 now, learn to fucking read aloud. /minirant

I can do everything so far except drive. I've never driven a car in my entire life. I do plan on learning eventually, but right now it's too expensive, unnecessary and I don't have time.

But I definitely agree with everything else.
