Scariest news I've ever heard!

Postby lykin005 » Wed Jan 25, 16:18 2012

Trigger warning.

My brother came home today and said our mom called him and told him that a local gang member got off the bus by the school she teaches kindergarten at with a loaded AK47 with a Tommy gun attachment! (WTF! I've never even heard of that!) He was unable to make the gun fire which was the only reason no one got hurt since their were no police and apparently no one knew he had this gun. (or at least no one willing to stop him.) He wasn't caught because he jumped in a car and drove off and nobody called the police or anything! This was a kindergarten school he was trying to shoot up! Give me five minutes with this kid and his body and mind would be so scarred as to be functionally dead! Seriously some of the scariest and disturbing stuff I've ever heard.

the gun issue at schools is a scary one. If it makes you feel any better there's a lot of BS in the third or fourth hand info your mom gave your brother.
Let me show you:

loaded AK47 with a Tommy gun attachment!

if no shots were fired, how do we know it was loaded?
He wasn't caught because he jumped in a car and drove off and nobody called the police or anything!
If any teacher, or school employee actually sees a person with a gun at a school I guarantee the police will be called. If any adult reports such a situation to a teacher or school employee I guarantee the police will be called. Now if a kindergartner says something without any adult confirmation ....well, lets just say kids say the darndest things and if we locked down school based on kindergartners say so the primary educational system would come to a screeching halt.

Give me five minutes with this kid and his body and mind would be so scarred as to be functionally dead!
if this story was true and a gun jam was all that prevented catastrophe then I raise your 5 minutes with my 30 seconds and there would be no "functionally"

I will admit it's still scary though.

There was a district appointed security guard or something for the school who is the primary source of information. There having a meeting at mom's school soon in which she has theorized he will discuss his account of what happened.

I really thought the whole situation was handled very poorly especially since he still has the gun it just didn't work that time! They also apparently don't know who he was and he managed to not only sneak an AK47 into SCHOOL but on the bus and then to ANOTHER school with young children not to mention the fact that the school is right next to a bunch of apartments and houses! What's to stop him attempting it again?

It's a shame that shit like that does indeed happen sometime around schools but like Monk said I'd guess it's an exaggerated story.

While I like to complain about how school handle stuff like that at least it's better than arming frustrated and underpaid teachers like they attempted to do in my state.
