2011 Spacefem Forum Posting Awards

Postby spacefem » Sun Jan 1, 9:40 2012

It's an annual tradition - celebrate our high posters, topic starters, bright newbies, annoying trolls... you name it. The annual forum awards!

For the second year in a row Monk was our top poster. For the first time ever there was an exact TIE for second, which is freaking weird:

# Username Posts
1 monk 1032
2 rowan 781
3 Sonic# 781
4 helium 628
5 cwbyrvr 624
6 Xinzang 547
7 Rainbow Dolphins 533
8 Meperidine 451
9 kelsa 426
10 Storage and Disposal 405

And I posted more topics than any of you hippies.

Topics
# Username Posts
1 spacefem 123
2 monk 58
3 kelsa 46
4 edit the sad parts 41
5 lizpoona 38
6 Xinzang 36
7 Neko 35
8 rowan 35
9 Sonic# 34
10 ladyhawk 32

I have yet to find a good way to rank newbies. Right now they're ranked by "posts per day" which really gives unfair advantage to anyone who joined in December. But you get the idea. Ladyhawk made the "topic" list and joined in February, I think I really award her "newbie of the year" for being active, sticking around, not being a troll, and posting generally pretty cool stuff.

awww *blush*

I totally think ladyhawk should get newbie of the year, since she's been here so long and posts cool stuff. Runners up LunchBox & Hufflepuff.
Global warming is intricately tied to the decline in the pirate population. As the pirate population goes down, the average global temperature goes up. Ergo, pirates are cool, and we need more pirates. :pirate: ARRR!

Congrats ladyhawk! You're pretty kickass.

I'm laughing at getting the same number of posts as rowan. That's very weird, especially since there's no one within a hundred of us. Mathematical anomaly go!

I'd like to nominate Butterfly North for "person I learned the most from." Because I learn a lot here from all of you, but there have been several threads in the past year where she has laid an idea out in a better way than I think I could, and she may have me beat for patience towards trolls too. (I don't know only because there isn't a hair-pulling-out-ometer.) Also Mordak, for being a Friend to Chat, though time is frequently against us.

Ah, how I remember the days of Fern and I racking up an insane number of posts, scaring the crap out of everyone...

I am surprisingly still doin' ok on number of posts. I seem to recall getting most posts a year or two in a row-ish or something. Shocked I placed in active threads, even though it was clearly a split thread. Oh, Buffy, you such a silly show and are so fun to discuss.

I'd like to nominate RD for the 'cutting the crap' award. I have a tendency to get into all these theoretical discussions with the trolls and then RD comes in with two short sentences and destroys them for us.

Aw, thank you! I have really been trying to sharpen my sarcastic wit, lately. (Trolls make good sharpenings stones.)

bring it, has been.

Although I must say, 2003 does keep our high posters posting, because every year this conversation happens:

Someperson: Wow, I posted 1000 times in here? That's a lot. Maybe I need to get out more. Maybe I spend too much energy on the internet. Maybe I should stop posting on spacefem and get a life.

Us: MFS had 8000 one year.

Someperson: Oh never mind.

And that's how we getcha!

I second this nomination, and want to add an addendum for "awesome advice."

All yee established posters deserve an award for one thing or another!

Ladyhawk certainly deserves the top newbie spot. Her and Spacefem perhaps deserve awards for "awesome (and adorable picture bearing) forum mommy's"?
