Cellphones

Postby breezychanhassen » Thu Jan 30, 14:52

Cellphones are everywhere. It seems like nowadays you must own a cellphone or you aren't very cool. Most businesspeople can not go a day without a cellphone or else they experience headaches, anxiety, or other symptoms of having no cellphone. All the time people are walking around chattering on them. <hr>
Cellphones can be very helpful. It is amazing that we can carry these portable little devices and be able to contact practically anyone wherever and whenever we want. If there is some kind of emergency you can use them to call the police, or they can be used to contact businesspeople you need to talk to. But why do people blow money away on cellphones when they don't even need them?
For example lots of kids in my class have cell phones and they barely have a use for them. They really just carry them to show off. Occasionally they will "accidentally" let the phones fall out of their backpacks and hold them up for everyone to see. All these excess cellphones are very annoying. I mean who really wants to sit around and listen to ringtones to the tune of Jingle Bells or watch people's pants jigle because their cellphones are vibrating? Are bright colored cellphone clips and designed buttons really worth manufactoring? The conversations people have on cellphones tend to be really boring and just plain dumb! And all this radiation in the air can't be good for us. I think that people should only use cellphones if they really need them, and use payphones and regular phones the rest of the time.
Some people are like slinkies...good for nothing but you can't help but smile when you see one tumble down the stairs..... (X c X)

I have a cell phone. I use it sparingly.

A man in my church was surveying his property on his tractor (four wheeler thingy) one day when he ran over a log and it flipped the vehicle over onto him. he never carried his cell phone with him but decided to take it with him that night, and called 911 from where he was trapped under the tractor. had he not had his cell phone for them to help locate them, he would have died. <~ miracle with a cell phone. :)

i don't mind cell phones, but i find it odd that 2% of people find it totally appropriate to chat on their cell phones in church. :P
...still crazy, after all these years. : )

My cellphone is attatched to my hip. I neeeed it. This is sad, but true. It's what keeps me occupied during school (text messaging!), and what keeps me in touch with my mother when I'm at school, rehearsal, out with friends, etc. Snake II is also a good form of entertainment.

The one big problem I have with cellphones is when people are on the phone while they're driving. People are on their cellphones going through the drive-through window, for heavens sake! I think it's rude. People should not dial and drive (unless, of course, they're calling me).

i'm not a phone person. i dont talk on the phone very much. i got my cell phone in the 8th grade, but only because it was free. my mother had been with this company for a while and they were like "here! stay with us! heres a free cell phone!" i dont really use it except to call my mother. i do text message though, but i'm careful not to go over my free limit. cell phones are alright, i guess. they dont really bother me. like most things.
i'm not all that cool. but i hope i will be someday.

my parents had 2 for a while and its all we used cuz we didnt have enough monney to get a phonline at are new house, cuz its in the middle of no where, but we got skrewed with huge charges in the end and it was a pain in the rear end. the moral of the story is only use them for emergencys, other wise always off is the key.

I think cell phones are fine. I use mine to call my mom, who lives i another state, almost every day. Or I use it to call my friends while I'm at school waiting, for about an hour, for my next lecture cuz I know that they prolly are doing the same thing as me, being bored. AND they are good to have when your car breaks down in the middle of nowhere and you need help. One thing I can't stand is when someone's phone goes off in the library or during the middle of class. How Rude!

I know people who don't have regular phone lines in their houses, they just use their cell phone. I can see how this makes sense, especially if you can get cheaper long distance on a cell phone. I have a cell phone and take it with me everywhere. No one really calls me on it, I have it with me because I don't wear a watch and in case I need to double check directions or something.
I can't understand how people can drive and talk on a cell. I mean, I can't even talk on the phone and watch tv without getting distracted. I really think people should use common sense and not "dial and drive", even if they have a hands free kit.

I have a cellphone...it's not that great. It's never on just because I find it so darn annoying. And then if it's in my backpack and some sees it it's suddenly "Oooh! You have a cellphone! That's so cool! Can I call someone? Can I change the ringtone? Can I borrow it?" AAAHH!!! NONONONONO!!! It's mine and not that I'm cheap or anything, but I'm the one who has to pay the bill. No, you can't call your boyfriend, no, you can't call your friend, no, you can't call your sister! Leave me alone! I guess I should be more patient, but...NO! Stop asking!

Cellphones break so easily though. I'm already on number 4. Ok, I admit it. I'm a cellphone abuser! One is in the bottom of Lake Poway (don't ask), another one my horse stepped on and flattened, one my friend's dog ate, I could go on and on.

Some cellphones can be used to take photos and those are the really annoying ones... Isn't it illegal to use a cell phone when driving?

I have a cellphone and it's like the never ending leash for my mother on me. I have to call her whenever i move an inch in my car, but half the time I just tell her I'm at sarah's and then sarah and I drive around and she just knows I'm with sarah.. but hush she doesnt know that.

Cellphones only get on my nerves when they disturb people's driving (which they do ALOT) and of course when they go off in school and everyone makes a huge deal that someone has a cellphone. :screwy: *Sigh* then there are the little freshman and sophmores with their brand new 150$ cellphones that they have to show off all morning!! *GRR*... *continues muttering to herself about idiotic children with expensive toys*
This is what it must feel like to walk in full sunlight, my darkness revealed, my shadow self embraced.

I have a cellphone, but I only use it when I'm traveling from college to home, or back. This way I can keep in touch with my parents, and if I get into an accident or my car breaks down, I don't have to be stranded. Well I do, but I can let my parents know. It seems to be good for that, but other than that, I don't carry it around with me.
