Polls are constructed to gather responses to various topics based on a given set of answers for the poll taker to choose from. A typical spacefem.com poll has several answers, usually including a throw-away answer for those with no opinion. On the forum, most polls are not scientifically crafted and have a very broad confidence interval. Topics for polls range from ridiculous to serious topics, including political polls, characterization, and various special interests (i.e. music genres). Polls with only two answers (polar) are highly discouraged, and certain topics have been black-listed as taboo over the years.
