What is the origin of your username?
You missed the deadline by 19 hours.
Chococat is just my alias. It doesn't have any really deep meaning, but it's not completely random so I still like it after [almost] three years.
How did you get to spacefem.com?
Embarrasingly enough, I got here through Neopets as well. Way back when, as I wasted my time as a ten-year-old, I thought Neopets was the greatest thing evAr. I clicked on a link on someone's shop page and was directed to the useless blobs on Spacefem. I took the quizzes, read the advice page, watched stick-death, and forgot about it for awhile. Years later, considering myself older and wiser, I went back to Neopets to have a good laugh, got sucked in again, and was again happily directed to Spacefem. Luckily I found the forums this time and have not looked back since. I was a really sucky newbie, but I think I'm better now.
Where is your user pic from, and what does it mean to you?
Mine has a very deep philosophical meaning. Or it could just be a picture of Chococat.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I want to edit books and/or conquer Monaco.
What general things should we know about you?
I've been termed a "bastard intellectual", an "incipient Trotskyite"; it's been claimed that I possess an "antileadership attitude" and that I am manifesting "seraphim tendencies".
Really, I'm just a high school student trying to balance homework and an anxiety disorder. I'm a Harry Potter fanatic and founded/lead a school based club, and devote the rest of my extra-school attention to Latin club. I've got cats, am addicted to chocolate, and enjoy drinking water. I love watching movies and analysing other people's tone and diction in everyday conversation. I'm afraid of the dark. I am a vegetarian who craves meat and am a guilty Episcopalian. I have nice eyes and knees. I hate running but love moving. I am a master procrastinator.
What are your favorite books of all time?
The Time Traveler's Wife is my favorite book of all time. Others that rank pretty close to the top are Lord of the Flies, Speaker for the Dead, the Harry Potter books, Ovid's Metamorphoses, Dear Millie, 1984, Glass Menagerie, The Mystery of the Cupboard, and Abarat.
What kinds of music do you like?
I didn't start listening to music until I started driving, but now I love dance punk, indie pop and wizard rock. The Bravery, !!!, Cloud Cult, Flogging Molly, Talking Heads, The Go! Team, Harry and the Potters, the Draco Malfoys, the Whomping Willows, the Remus Lupins, Sonic Youth, and Venice is Sinking are all verra nice.
What do you like/not like to wear?
I would commit several heinous crimes in order to be able to shop at Anthropologie. All my jeans come from Gap because they have crazy sales where suddenly all their sixty-dollar pants are ten dollars, and because they're all really comfortable and fit properly. I'm kind of a jeans whore. I always feel really self-concious in whatever I'm wearing, so I usually throw on an old sweater over it all. That way, if I decided I hate whatever shirt I ended up wearing halfway through the day, I can zip up my sweater and stop worrying. I am currently on the lookout for a new and less nappy default sweater.
What do you like about yourself?
I like my knees. They're pretty nice knees.
I have a really funny laugh. I would be horribly self-conscious about it, but everyone who hears it says that they love it, so I love that other people love it.
I also like my eyes, the fact that I can make people laugh, my ever-increasing Latin sight-translation abilities and that it takes very little to make me very happy.

V for Vendetta, Dr. Strangelove, Howl's Moving Castle, Braveheart, The Princess Bride!
What are your nicknames (on this forum, or in real life)?
My name's Kathryn, but the only diminutive cognate I've gone by was Wren. My best friend called me Banana for a long time because I used to have this huge bright-yellow overcoat. Sometimes I get Choco here on Spacefem.
