I finished The Count of Monte Cristo! I really liked it. I would say I preferred it to The Three Musketeers. I am on nonfiction now, and I promised my mom the book she just published would be my next fiction read. Will report back.
I just started The Count of Monte Cristo. It's really long but reading quick so far. I really liked The Three Musketeers, and a friend of mine told me this one is better. Before this one I read dreamcatcher by Stephen King. Not really a fan. I feel like a lot of his work is hit-or-miss. There are so...
That sounds really stressful and all of that really sucks. Being at the mercy of other people's stupidity is such a frustrating and infuriating experience. It should be obvious to everyone with a brain in their heads that if you don't work in the lab, you have no control over how fast the results co...

I really liked Stranger Things, I am excited for the next season. Just finished Luke Cage- I liked it but it was not as engaging as Daredevil or Jessica Jones. Like, the characters and the plotline didn't pull you in as much. Luke Cage and Rosario Dawson's character were good but the new characters ...
So, I have decided I don't want to pay my car insurance bill. Why should I have to? It's my money, I worked for it, I should decide where it goes. Does my insurance company think they can just TAKE my money against my will? I know it's illegal to drive a car without insurance, but I just don't think...

I think last time I went to one I made hummus. This worked well because I knew there was going to be a crudite tray. I like to bring salads sometimes. I make an avocado devilled egg that's kind of a signature recipe, so I sometimes make those, but they're a lot of work.
Very cute!! It is good of you to adopt an older cat- everyone wants a kitten and the older cats have trouble finding homes. She looks pleased to have come home with you. I want a dog really bad, but cats are a lot easier to take care of, like you said. We can leave for a long weekend and as long as ...

I think there are a lot of spaces that harbor a culture of dirty jokes and lewd conversations- I work in a kitchen (full of women) and we have had plenty of conversations/jokes amongst ourselves that would be completely inappropriate in polite society. It was the same when I was in culinary school. ...
I haven't seen Inside Out but I have heard it was really good. I enjoyed Mad Max and I really liked The Force Awakens. Something I enjoyed about these movies is it wasn't The Female Protagonist with a bunch of men supporting- there were many and varied characters who are women. I still argue that Am...
Mods -- am I allowed to promote the movie here? At a different website I got in trouble for promoting it, cuz they don't allow promotion of commercial products. I'm not sure where to draw the line between just talking about something that is very much a project of passion, vs. outright promoting a ...
I am trying to get down to two cups of coffee per week or less. I had my first cup of coffee in 16 days today. It tasted really good. If I get in the habit of drinking coffee every day I get nasty withdrawal symptoms in the morning 'til I have a cup, and it sucks waking up feeling like shit. Tea I c...

I think it is the same, and from my research there is no leaching of chemicals into your food when you cook with them. They are two ply, and the layer that contacts your food (and the cooking liquid, which would only contact your food if the bag breaks) is non-reactive at the temperatures you use th...
