Re: How are you feeling?
I just want to thank my fellow Americans for proving, once again, we're just a disappointing sack of dicks.

Oh, well, then I guess I can stop worrying about the Earth being a steaming ball of shit by the time my kids are adults.
Thanks for clearing that up!

You can have my kids' Almond Joys. We always get way too many of them, because Kid 1 is allergic to them.

I have the opposite problem here. (I'm also in the US.) Everything is insanely gender specific, of course, but the selection of boys' clothing vs. girls is pathetic. Like, less than a quarter of the size. At almost every affordable store I try to shop at. Buuuut I have two of them, so really only bu...

Re: kids' obsessions
My oldest has a...fixation....on butts. He is also obsessed with educational documentaries about animals/dinosaurs, because he likes to sound sophisticated when he spouts off some random fact and says, "I saw it in a documentary." My youngest is obsessed with My Little Pony and superheroes, who, acc...

Re: Do you love your company?
I work for a very, very large telecommunications company that is trying to rebrand itself as an entertainment company, and this company is pretty fabuloys to work for. Plus, I have one of the best supervisors I've ever had. I'm a tech support specialist, so my job can be challenging, but the company...

Seconded! I got dry socket after my wisdom teeth were removed, and my dentist packed the socket with sterilized cloth strips that had been soaked in clove oil. I made it a million times better!

Re: What does your bedroom look like?
I have an awesome, king size memory foam bed. And a computer w/desk and chair. And two broken chests of drawers that I really need to replace, but good furniture is expensive. There's a couple shops around that sell solid wood, handmade by the Amish furniture. So I'm saving for dressers because they...

We don't have pets. Kid 1 is allergic to everything. When he was a baby we had to rehome our dogs because he was a swollen, oozing skinless, miserable mass of infant.

Really? More fucked up than you telling people suffering from depression and suicidal ideations to stop complaining and just be happy? Do you read what you post, or do you just turn your brain off and start keyboard smashing?

So, a hypothetical psychological effect is bullshit, but your intuition is somehow so magical and powerful that your opinion should be taken as fact?

Re: learning to use a toilet
So, ours was stubborn. He knew when he had to go, and would often tell us, but refused to use the potty because he "didn't feel like it." We tried rewards and celebration, nut he didn't really care about those things. In the end, what actually got him using the potty consistantly was making him clea...

Re: Cry it out vs. Attachment
For me, personally, it's really kind of a case by case thing every time they cry. For instance, I don't think I let my kids cry for extended periods until they were around 8 months old, but that's really when they started throwing tantrums. On the other hand, when I'd check on them when they were cr...
