Re: What would some of the chapters be called in the book about your life?

These are all really funny or interesting. I would like to know a little more about some of the less obvious chapters. Like "Why is My Window Still Broken" or "A dead Squirrel". I liked the Rowan love story too. :) "Living free and Traveling" "Unexpected Baby" "Unexpected Husband" "Back to School: C...

How to Announce Baby #4?

I never wanted kids, but whatever, I had one and I didn't want her to be a spoiled only child, so I had another one. They were pretty cute and not so bad as far as babies/kids go. I kind of like them actually, so I really encouraged my husband for a third. He's not so bad either, but we are (were......

When downhill skiing, I was gawking at somebody that had biffed it on the slope thinking of how embarrassing it must be for them, so I didn't take a curve as sharply as I should have. I went off the side of the trail which was a straight drop and ended up with my skis caught in a tree with me dangli...

How More Female Police Officers Would Help Stop Police Brutality

I came across this article last summer and I can't remember if I posted it in here, sent it to my sister, or just appreciated it quietly, but in the wake of this week's events, I searched for it today because I find it relevant to the issues the U.S.A. is dealing with right now. There is a lot of an...

Re: self-employed

I started a small business making Mexican tacos (aka street tacos, carne asada tacos, little tacos) and quesadillas this year. It was originally a combination of employing my husband and ensuring I had a steady taco supply in an underserved market. I had no idea what I was doing, so I just sort of s...

Re: Weirdest thing boss has told you.

I worked as a financial analyst and planner for a larger, very well known company (*cough*Watson*cough) and when I got a promotion, one of the guys I worked with started acting creepier than usual. He sent me angry e-mails about how I needed to dress more feminine and that I needed to lose my baby w...

Re: Kids are full of LIES

That is pretty hilarious. That said, at least your kid can clearly write his name and can make a convincing argument. :) I remember my oldest kid's first attempt to deceive me (earlier this year). She was playing with her brother in his bedroom when he started to cry. She comes running out with his ...

Re: What was your grade point average?

This has now come back to haunt me now that I have decided that I made a horrible mistake and that finance is killing my soul. I make a good salary, bonuses, great benefits with lots of vacation, my own office and a degree of freedom and respect, but as I said earlier, it's at the price of my soul, ...

Re: Feels like Disney's trying to be a leader in Female Leads

I really enjoyed the Jungle Book with my family in theaters. It was very visually pleasing and both the 5 year old and 3 year old were entertained enough to NOT try an escape. That's got to count for something.

I feel like any party (this includes birthday parties) before a kid goes to school and makes actual friends are more for the adults. I've been to baptisms parties where the band plays until well after midnight and everyone has been drinking and dancing while the kids have fallen asleep in little pil...

Yes! This was always my dream job as a kid and maybe secretly as an adult too. Unfortunately, I need to make a great deal of money to construct my empire, so I had to go into finance/accounting/planning. :(

Re: Employer Education Verification

I switched jobs a couple months ago and just realized that it's a good thing I didn't have to provide proof because my previous employer required the original transcripts when I graduated, but they never returned them to me. (They swear they did, but I am positive they did not. They cost my $29.95!)...

Re: What is the longest book you ever read?

I read the Song of Ice and Fire books (also referred to as the Game of Thrones books for those that only watch the HBO series). They were lengthier than what I normally read. I am used to finishing off a good book in a day or two, but these each took a bit longer. Kids could have contributed to this...

It would be nice to not have to chose where I should put my limited amount of paycheck toward: paying down my student debt or trying to save for when my kids go to college. I want to provide something for them so they don't have to deal with the largest monthly payment being to pay student loans (as...

My Poor, Abused Dog

Last week, a police officer came by while I was putting my kids to bed to check on the welfare of my dog. This is the third time. And, like the previous two visits, my dog was found to be not just fine, but happy and well cared for. Here are the issues that created the call: FIRST CALL A COUPLE MONT...

Re: What did you hate hearing when you were pregnant?

I'm usually easily annoyed, but I wasn't really bothered by the questions about girl or boy, due date, or if I'd picked out a name. I guess I interpreted it as somebody taking an interest or trying to be kind/supportive. I was however, irritated with the work comments. Here are some gems from the of...
