Re: MGTOW: What is your opinion?

Meh, I'm not sure why this is a thing at all. Whoever wants to go their own way should go their own way and be done with it. So is it really about going your own way? Why do they need other people to Go Their Own Way? Or is it about going some way away from marriage along with other men who do not w...

Re: Is your signature legible?

Some of them are. Some aren't. My tennis ball autograph that I practiced over and over for when I won the US Open isn't legible at all, but it's cute. I don't play tennis, but I still had that tennis ball autograph nailed down.

SimpleMan, please stop beating women at gas stations. Just stop it. How do I know you beat women at gas stations, you ask? Because I just saw a video on the internet where a man was beating a woman at a gas station. Therefore, all men beat women at gas stations. Or is it all women get beaten by men ...

Re: Best Star Wars Character

Since misery likes company, I convinced my husband to watch it last night. He kept laughing, mostly at my faces; I was cringing. It was painful. I didn't make it all the way through. Depending on how much self-loathing is left in me, I might finish it tonight. But probably not. Ugh. Episode I sudden...

... It is just the best I can do... Is it, though? Saying you can only fill in the blanks with scenarios that support your narrative might be selling yourself short. Challenging those with views different than yours (like, say, posting here) and taking some of their input into account might be more...

Re: Little old white lady.

Well, the little old white lady behind me at the grocery store checkout line yesterday asked me if the flowers I was buying were for myself. I said yes, and smiled. She smiled back and said "women don't buy themselves flowers often enough." I went back and bought a second bunch of flowers and gave i...

I'd go sous-vide for optimal, genuine flavor and texture. Except no crispy gerbil skin. So definitely flash freeze and deep fry.

I thought the parodies were a bit exaggerated. They are not. They are about as logical as the real thing. But less painful.

Re: Flat Earth Discussion

The way I understand it: Gravity pulls water (and everything else) toward the Earth's center. A combination of the geography of the landmasses, the volume of water, and the earth's rotation determines the distribution of the water on the Earth's surface, and therefore, the shape of the land/water bo...

Re: How well will you survive after the apocalypse?

I have asthma, so I'll survive for as many puffs are left in my inhaler. Will this be a known apocalypse, or a surprise one? Because if we know it's coming, I can try to stock up. Otherwise, I'd give it a month tops. Stock up NAO. I also predict I'll be out in the first round. My neighbors all have...

Re: Dave Chapelle's New Stand Up

I take a more simplistic approach. Comedy should make the target audience laugh. Sometimes it's straight out joyful laughter. Sometimes it's guilty laughter, the kind where you go "ugh, I shouldn't have laughed at that". That's also successful comedy, to me, probably more so, since it makes you laug...

I'm not sure to which Stand Up you are referring (probably one of the two that came out in the last week), but the last one from him I saw (which was sometime in early 2017) kind of left a bad taste... Yay heat! When hubby asked me what I wanted for Christmas and I said I wanted a generator to move the gas furnace fan in our home in case an ice storm knocked out the power (no wood-burning fireplace and 2 kiddoes <5), he laughed me out of the room. Said we'd get it, but not as a Christmas present :P)

I liked it. A chunk of the humor fell flat for me and the casino subplot dragged, but I don't have any big complaints.
The casino subplot did serve a purpose, at least to me: Bathroom run. I should know better by now than to get that big drink before the movie.

This list you're looking for may not exist. But until you find your list, based on what I've heard and read (since I haven't actually seen it yet), Lady Bird should meet your criteria of movies worth watching.
