Re: terrible but fun
Video games. I really just want to replay Ocarina of Time over and over again. But then I tried the master quest and got really frustrated that it wasn't the same (you know, the whole point). Ironically I think people would also be shocked to know that I'm not very good at reading. I love it, do it ...

Re: Kevin Hearts forced apology.
You're making it out like people are questioning him for his parenting practices. They aren't. He made a public joke about a marginalized group of people who deal with abnormal amounts of violence against them, and people are reacting to that. They aren't saying take his kids away, they said "Apolog...

Where are you getting this "men want sex three times a day?" or men think more darkly sexual things than women (more dark, more sexual, and just more quantity wise)?

Re: How important is school?
Well, I think home life matters a lot. I have no intention of letting the school teach my kid a lot of things, I firmly believe elementary school at least should be a safety net. Both for kids who's parents don't have the time/resources to teach them, and for subjects their parents aren't strong at ...

Re: Abortion - My Stance and Why I Can Still Be a Feminist
a) murder implies person hood, I'm not convinced a fetus should have that designation. b) we're also not talking about personal ethics. No one is making someone have an abortion, we must be discussing the legality of abortion. c) if you're talking about the United states you are talking about a coun...

Re: Abortion - My Stance and Why I Can Still Be a Feminist
You missed the part where I said bodily autonomy doesn't have much to so with location. I meant if a fetus had strong feelings about their organs being donated, or being used for stem cell research we should follow it's lead. It doesn't mean the mother can't still refuse to let it use her organs. Ab...

Re: Abortion - My Stance and Why I Can Still Be a Feminist
I'm not ignoring the bodily autonomy of the fetus. If it had an opinion on what to do with its own body parts I'd be all for obeying them. But bodily autonomy doesn't really have much to do with location, and it doesn't have the right to demand the use of someone's organs. And I think at a legal lev...

Re: Abortion - My Stance and Why I Can Still Be a Feminist
Out of curiosity 60sBornFeminist, have you ever been pregnant? I don't think it strengthens or weakens your position, while I think the abortion debate is absolutely sexist, I don't think people's ability to conceive, or experience with pregnancy lends more or less weight to their argument. As I sai...

Re: What's your least favorite fruit?
I don't like fruit that much. I'll eat and enjoy grapes, or bananas. I'll begrudgingly eat apples if that's all there is. But in general they are just too sweet for my taste. And the more Sour ones just have a weird mouth feel to me. Oh, I like Dragon fruit too but I feel like that's just mildly swe...

Oof, I missed this!
Two years already.
Unfortunately the back and forth between hot & muggy, and chilled, dry, air conditioning has sent my whole family into a terrible health spiral. There's like no worse time to have a cold than the middle of summer. It just sucks all around.

Re: Do you watch romantic comedies?
I tend not to because I'm not particularly interested in romance. I have nothing against it, it just doesn't interest me enough that a film using it as the main theme appeals to me. And I often find they have ethical problems that I know I'm supposed to over look or find endearing and I have trouble...

Everytime I see this thread I'm just bummed my vagina and brain can't team up to be a super haploid DNA saving machine :( As for the actual topic, I agree that there's an issue with domestic violence. I'm not convinced it's as widespread as you imply. And sometimes I think it's less that women are e...

I'm sorry if I've missed this, but where is it that you live again? Your life experience is just so different from mine. At first I thought it was strictly racial, but I'm beginning to think our governments are too different for us to really discuss such things. I know plenty of people who have been...

Well to be fair, men can be caught actually beating/raping women and get token jail time at best. But for the record, I've never threatened anybody about calling the police. Nor has anyone in my immediate circle. More than a few of us have been smacked around. I agree false allegations are terrible,...

I don't really seduce, I just proposition. You have to be 100% okay with a rejection but in general it's worked out for me.
(I mean I've been happy to continue doing so (before my current monogamous set up) not that I have never been rejected)

There's Tue left over Mac and cheese my MIL made three weeks ago... It didn't reheat as well as one would hope when making eight servings.
