Re: What is male privilege?

I'm sorry if I've missed this, but where is it that you live again? Your life experience is just so different from mine. At first I thought it was strictly racial, but I'm beginning to think our governments are too different for us to really discuss such things. I know plenty of people who have been...

Re: What is male privilege?

Well to be fair, men can be caught actually beating/raping women and get token jail time at best. But for the record, I've never threatened anybody about calling the police. Nor has anyone in my immediate circle. More than a few of us have been smacked around. I agree false allegations are terrible,...

Urban living ftw. Haven't mowed a lawn or shovelled a drive way in ten years.

I've never heard that I should get to go to the bathroom first. This changes the elevator ride up to our apartment when we argue over who has to pee more lol

Re: How do you seduce people?

I don't really seduce, I just proposition. You have to be 100% okay with a rejection but in general it's worked out for me.

(I mean I've been happy to continue doing so (before my current monogamous set up) not that I have never been rejected)

Re: what languages do you speak?

English and French fluently. I took a Spanish class in high school between that and my French I can generally communicate basic information with other romance language speakers. I also took some Gaelic in university (One class in Cape Breton which was more of a Scott's Gaelic and one in Toronto that...

There's Tue left over Mac and cheese my MIL made three weeks ago... It didn't reheat as well as one would hope when making eight servings.

Re: are you afraid of spiders?

Not really. I once saw a dock full of people jump into the lake as hundreds of dock spiders swarmed onto the platform. That would freak me out but the same scenario with just about anything would have the same effect. I'm pretty happy to let them be in my apartment though. They take care of the bugs...

Right handed but I can learn things with my left hand. I suspect I favour my right because my first grade teacher was a demon who demanded we write properly with our right hand.

Re: posting pictures of kids and privacy

We use 23 snaps to share pictures of our kid with family but we've made a point of not sharing any pictures in public.
I want my kid to be able to decide for himself what he puts on the big wide Web and a think erring on the side of caution is a good thing to model him in this regard.

I like how the sentence "I never said she stole my money" means different things depending on which word you emphasize.

Keys, a fob, a panera card and a petsmart card both of which have been there for over seven years so fuck you Sobey's and your inability to make a small keyring card that lasts more than three days.

Lost a lot of close friends, either from moving or death.
I saw a meme the other day that said something to the effect of "Nobody Talks about Jesus' most impressive miracle: having 12 close friends into his 30s"
It hit a little too close to home

I was unemployed for a couple months once.

Actual vacation, I took a two week vacation to the east coast once... Which now that I think of it is the first and last vacation that wasn't just a long weekend to visit my partner in a different city.

This was a depressing topic lol

Re: Dogs.

We want a dog so bad. But our apartment is so small and my mental health problems make it hard for me to get outside once a day for the child, let alone several times a day for a dog. The next pet should be the child's anyway so we'll wait until he's old enough to have an opinion and become involved...

I'm sorry Skeezy, that must be really creepy for you. I knew what it was happening and how to address it so it never really bothered me. I do find it odd that to my knowledge I don't sleep walk or anything.

I get that too. At this point I sound like a broken record, but I always just had a conversation with someone before sleeping with them. It's a pretty simple spiel "Hey, just so you know, I sometimes become sexual aggressive while sleeping. I've always been easy to shove off if you're not feeling it...

Re: Do you believe in ghosts?

In Newfoundland sleep paralysis was known as being visited by the Old Hag. A folklorist once did a study on it (Before it was widely known) and then toured around talking about it. Everywhere he went people would come up to him after the talk to be like "I have that and never knew! I thought I was g...

Re: Do you believe in ghosts?

I'm not going to answer. But I have a great story. I have a friend who used to work at a historical site. One day we were watching one of those ghost story shows and her former work place came up. She thought that was weird as she hadn't heard of anything when she worked there so we turned it up. Th...
