Re: Mansplaining???

If that same friend begins explaining how socks are knitted, whether or not he knows that I am both a knitter and a sock designer, this is mansplaining. He has never picked up a knitting needle in his life Hi sorry I'm getting more of an idea but with that bit, if for say the friend didn't know tha...

Mansplaining???

Hi there (Sorry if this has been posted before or posted in the wrong topic) So I'd like some opinions on what mansplaining actually is because it seems a very vague topic. I understand the basic idea is when a male explains something that the person he is explaining this to is actually more qualifi...

Re: New member Hi :)

Usually we use the term "people of color" rather than "colored" due to the history of the word colored. (you can specify a subset, e.g. "women of color" etc). You may see abbreviations such as PoC and WoC for those two. If it's a specific group, you can use Black, Latinx, or other specifics. Thank ...

Re: Have you ridden a motorcycle?

I was doing a stupid amount of speed, wanted to see how far I could push it (around 170mph or 273kph) lets just sa...

Re: Harassment in the Workplace training

So I work in a male dominated job, its outdoors and manual we've had females work here but never stay for too long (normally for either health reasons or finding better suited jobs). The only remote kind of training we got in this relevance was from one of the few females that stayed and simply put ...

Re: How to deal with a close-minded person??

I'm not trying to police what you say, and nor is he - but you have to respect how other people want to raise their children. He did ask you politely first and you didn't respect that - it's possible he thinks you're in some way criticising his parenting because of his beliefs?

Re: How to deal with a close-minded person??

Personally I disagree with this, the parent politely asked you to stop yet you continued and as your not a teacher of the class then you should have respected his opinion on the matter. By all means if the other parents don't mind then continue but if they ask you not to then that's where you you stop

* What did Jenny die of in Forrest Gump? Not going to lie I had to google that one haha :) yeah my little annoyance is really simple, when people just don't say thank you anymore. Regardless of the action if I've taken time out to do something for you at least be thankful of said effort ? Even a si...
