Re: I'm too liberal and apparently its going to bite me in the ass

Spouses are allowed to bite each other on the ass.

Re: How many kids do you want?

I have two, I'd like to have one more, but I don't see that happening because of current medical issues. I really like being a mom, which makes no sense given the fact that my oldest child (who is only four) is probably the biggest asshole I've ever met. Part of me gets super angry about it, and pa...

Re: Pregnancy insomnia

I feel for you, this is one of the reasons that I've put off pregnancy for awhile. I didn't feel that I could do my job with little or no sleep. What is it exactly that causes insomnia during pregnancy? The tricky part is that my usual methods of emergency sedatives (grass, tiny dose of Benzo) would...

I went to the beach last week and, despite reapplying SPF 80 every hour, I am still a purple lobster with pus and skin shedding everywhere. This was ten days ago. I am melanin deficient.

Re: are you on the cool websites?

I have Facebook, mostly just to let my family know that I'm still alive. Not a whole lot gets posted there. I have an ancient LinkedIn account that I should update but I'm not sure how useful having a resume on the Internet could possibly be.

Now that I'm older and realizing my old mom likelihood, 1-3 would be nice, 2 preferably.

Re: Antidepressants during pregnancy

My doctor instructed me to continue to take my Celexa when I get pregnant. The risks involved in going off my meds are significant, panic attacks and pregnancy could be very harmful. My #1 fear about pregnancy is my mental illness and having a hard time bonding with the child and taking care of myse...

Re: What are you allergic to?

Probably more allergens than I'm aware, mainly ragweed and mold make me hurt. Damn Austin with it's horrendous allergens. As far as food allergies: tree nuts (including avocados), bananas, and I can't tolerate lactose. I think that I have a ton of food sensitivities but I haven't had allergy teating...

Re: Water, water, everywhere...

So sweet, but I'm fine! :) We did get caught driving in a terrible storm. Suddenly, everyone was parked on the overpass and had their hazard lights on. The wind was incredibly loud and visibility was low. The power had gone out, so when we arrived at our gated complex, ten or so cars were stuck outs...

Re: cosleeping

I don't have kids yet, but I'll probably get a bassinet and place it next to the bed. I would trust myself co-sleeping with an infant, but my husband moves around a lot. My cats are pretty insistent upon sleeping on top of me, so when I become a parent, I'm sure they'll scratch at the door and keep ...

Re: I'm too liberal and apparently its going to bite me in the ass

This is so hard for me to read. Sure, I've worked places where I knew that I had different opinions that my colleagues. I've also worked in male-dominated spaces and endured the occasional rape joke. But I've never felt singled-out and I haven't had to put up with colleagues who wanted to talk about...

Dine and dash?

I have only done this once, when I was younger. I had completely planned on paying. I had an hour for lunch and asked the server for the check about half an hour before I had to leave. He brought the check and I placed my debit card with the bill in the check book, standing upright so he would notic...

This is heart-breaking, I can't believe that your mother has an injury and also has to worry about whether or not she can pay rent because of it. In an ideal nation, the government would provide a little financial assistance (as far as rent, utilities) until your mother was healed enough to return t...

Re: were you ever not a feminist?

I wasn't always comfortable with the label, I think a lot of it came from the shame I felt being female growing up. My dad has brooding hatred towards women. In fact, the first words I heard after leaving the womb were, "Oh shit, it's a girl." Even into my teens, I believed that women were unintelli...

I love me some bell buttoms, but at my current girth, yoga pants are more comfy. Leggings under a dress are even better.
