Re: what's your favorite adhesive?

You know that weird stuff that holds junk-mail credit-card type things to paper? It's sticky and rubbery and likes to retain its shape? I LOVE that stuff. It's like these things but holds the stick way longer!! If I had those I would never get anything done because I'd be spending all day throwing ...

Re: What is your favorite number?

My favorite number is 5, but how come no one ever asks about my least favorite number?

My least favorite number is 2 because it's a killer of primes by way eliminating every even number, and yet even though it's an even number itself, it still gets to be a prime number. What a goady asshole.

Re: Brains, Bees, Balls, and Behavior

I can just imagine the bees filling out their course evaluations. "Professor B is cool and I loved the field trips but he's a bit set in his ways--kept going after the farthest balls instead of the TOTALLY OBVIOUS REALLY CLOSE balls. Duh!"

Re: How comfortable do you feel asking about someone's race?

I love hearing about how people were raised, what kinds of things shaped them in life, etc., so to me, a person's race, and how she sees that as having shaped her (or not), is a fascinating thing. I would find talking about snow less interesting than hearing about what it's like to be (or look) Chin...

Ouch!

Thank goodness it wasn't your middle finger, though. Imagine all those people you'd no longer be able to double flip off.

Now adding "skiing, like, ever" to my list of things to not do in life.

Re: How comfortable do you feel asking about someone's race?

I'm mixed race. It's subtle, but detectable in my features. Most white people tend to assume I'm white, and don't ask. People of color, especially others who are mixed race, almost always ask, typically something along the lines of: "Wow you have an amazing profile (or sometimes: cheekbones). What's...

Re: When do you go to sleep?

I have narcolepsy. Without medication, I'd be nodding off into little one-minute naps dozens of times a day. So, left to my own devices, my answer to the question "When do you go to sleep?" would have to be: "All the time!" Luckily, I have medication. It wears off by mid-evening so I do a bit of nod...

Pfffft. Dancing is for babies who can't handle huddling around awkwardly outside in the smoker's corner pretending to be cool.

I try to do all three at once. While neighing. But the neighing is only so Nech can't say it's not trotting. Normally it would sound more like buffalo grunts.

Re: Women's self defense

One of the things my model mugging class taught was getting yourself down on the floor and lying on your side and using one leg to kick with a stomping-like motion, aiming in particular for knees. For many women, the legs are much more powerful than the arms. There was never any talk of grabbing any...

Re: Why are men so ready to complain...

Yeah, in order to sit on a toilet, you have to do a sort of scooping maneuver to avoid close encounters of the porcelain kind. Nech basically covered it all... but I also have to add that public toilets can actually be really dangerous for men to sit down on. Occasionally, the seats aren't firmly f...
