Been going through NES games I've never beat lately. I recently beat Castlevania, Zelda II, Mike Tyson's Punchout, the first Ninja Turtles game, and Contra without the code.

Been beating up my co workers and people online. Akuma from streetfighter has been my guy on games (hes guest starred in a quite a few games) for quite some time. Hell, I am akuma. I cant wait till they release the street fighter collection and I can go back to playing the greatest 2d fighter of all time, street fighter 3, online. A new wave of fresh meat to pummel

Hakai suru!!!
Street Fighter 3 is indeed one of the greatest 2D fighters ever made.

My label was "Akuma Killer" in the Street Fighter 4 games because of how nerfed he was. So many decent players were slaughtered by me simply because he took damage like a newborn baby.

Not strictly on-topic but: Does anyone have a recommendation for a good set of rules for a live game of Werewolf/Mafia? I've only played with an online community and that was like 10 yrs ago, so I barely remember the gist of the game, but I have a group of about 8-10 friends who showed interested in having a Werewolf/Mafia game night. So, any good links?
Should I take this side-jack to its own thread?

I started playing live Werewolf with this (proprietary but cute) set: https://www.looneylabs.com/games/werewolf
Basically you could do similar with these rules. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mafia_(party_game)

Werewolf when I run it starts simple (villagers, werewolves) but it can be scaled with other rules, like for seers.

Two other options are One Night Ultimate Werewolf, which has always been too bite-sized for me, and The Resistance, which turns from killing/player elimination to voting on missions as the key dynamic.

I started playing WoW for the first time in my life. I'd heard about it mainly in a pop culture/nerd culture joking sense a lot but never got around to trying it out.

It's fun and so far seems pretty chill. I like completing quests and just sort of traipsing around on the map, although it kinda just makes me miss Skyrim occasionally and I get bored of playing after a couple of hours. Skyrim, IMO, has a more compelling story to follow and it's way easier to get sucked into the narrative & gameplay. I haven't quite figured out any of the WoW lore or whatever, and I find myself not really caring about it. I'm just there to blow off stress by strategically killing things for money and items, I guess :P

I returned street fighter 4 within a month when it was new because of frustration with micro transactions. I flat out skipped ultra street fighter 4 even though it went on sale. Me buying street fighter 5 was kind of like caving. I still think it sucks they sell you multiple packs of 3+ characters for. 15-$30. I friggin hate todays greed in games. Its impossible to boycott though, because someone will always be throwing the money at it.

Also, I friggin miss mike tysons punch out. Tried to find a good emulator on my phone but so far no luck

Your list of NES games contains some of my favs. Also reminds me that I have a bunch of nes I never beat as well

Games I never beat
Godzilla (come to find out this game was rare ) too bad I dont have it, captain planet, excite bike, metroid

I like going back and playing games from when I was little and seeing how naive I was. Like oh thats what I wad supposed to do!!

I miss raiding in WoW. I don't know what it's like now but it used to be like a full-time job trying to keep up with it. I don't think I would have the patience or drive for it now.

Speaking of patience, I'm doing a "nuzlocke" run in a Pokemon game for the first time ever. If you're unfamiliar, it's just some self-imposed restrictions to challenge yourself, not a real game mode. You can only catch the first Pokemon you encounter on each route (or named location), you must give them nicknames, and if a Pokemon faints it's considered dead (you can no longer use it). There are other optional rules but those are the big ones.

It, uh, fucking sucks. But I'm having fun with it. It's forcing me to use Pokemon I normally wouldn't have in my team. All the battles are way more intense and emotionally charged.

Besides periodic Sea of Thieves, I've returned to Crusader Kings 2.

The gist is that I play a medieval noble who has to perpetuate their dynasty through heirs and secure their territory. Meanwhile, Sims-like, lots of events happen that create a fun narrative experience. For example, I became a queen of England who came into power in a period of great instability. I survived attempts on my life, losing a leg, and being slow-witted to become a 40+ year ruler who made friends with the Pope, kept her powerful vassals in line, became the head of the Benedictine Order, and developed enough diplomatic acumen to invite most of Ireland into vassalage.

I've also been replaying Neverwinter Nights. I'm a Cleric who fights with his summoned bear and thief companion for the forces of Lawful Neutral and against, well, all these things that keep trying to kill me.

I've been on a Codenames kick lately — the word, picture and two-player versions with various people. That and pick-up Magic, Carcassonne, Dominion and Ticket to Ride with my son.

Oh we finished up Seafall kind of by cheating a little. It turns out we just managed to RANDOMLY CHOOSE all the tombs with freaking nothing in them. So we decided to just hit all the tombs on the last round and just read them/get stuff out of it. And then we did the last stuff mostly just by making it a choose your own adventure reading thing. I think we may (someday) go back to it
with the undead rules, it seems like that's more co-op and I think it might be interesting to play a little of it
But now we started Pandemic Legacy and already enjoy that. Plus it seems like you can do more changing out of like, one person can't make it that day and/or someone else can. But if we don't have 4 people we just play other games.

I beat Street Fighter 2010 recently. It was pretty good, but seemed broken to me. Enemies didn't necessarily have to touch you to kill you, sometimes you couldn't jump to lower platforms or attack like you should.

I'm currently working on Battletoads. It's one of those games I never really considered trying to beat due to the length and difficulty. It's like trying to beat a few really hard games in a row without dying very much. I can now get through the turbo tunnel without dying, but I still haven't made it to the levels that are supposedly the hardest, so I'm not sure if I can beat it yet.

GAMES! Ok, I've gotten quite into board games recently. Here are my recommendations.

Exploding kittens. Fun for people who want a quick round of something and a good way to start off an evening. Not too hard to understand for newcomers. Can also be played in tiny groups.

Unstable Unicorns. Very enjoyable! Hard to learn but fun once you get the hang of it. A few issues are not addressed in the FAQ but once you figure out a rule for one person, stick to that for everyone else. A good game for groups of people.

What do you Meme. Like cards against humanity but with meme pictures and very dirty cards. However quite heteronormative and dick based humour. Fun in groups once alcohol is involved.

Panic Lab. Fun for a few rounds and difficulty level can be upped depending on the skill level of the players. Small and compact so travels well.

Skull King. Like hearts but with pirates. Very fun, though the scoring system is a bit odd. Once you have one person who gets the scoring and can do the maths though, really fun.
Ugh, I'm tired of my signature.

I think tons of people are playing this but, Red Dead Redemption 2.

Graphics? stunning. Story? Looking good so far. About 2 hokurs in and I can tell its on of the greatest games of all time. The game being pushed back so many times has led to one of the most detailed open world games thus. Far. I haven't unlocked the whole map but so far, no area looks the same.

If you played the old one you'll love this one. If you havent played either then your in for real treat.

I've been playing Dragon Quest XI for about two months. I'm nearing the end of the "second act" of the game. I've heard there are three.

This is certainly my favorite Dragon Quest game. These are old-school RPGs, with turn-based combat and lots of story and NPC dialogue. Lots of minigames - the casino is the best iteration yet, with Slime Slots being the most fun I've ever had setting a game on autoplay. The characters are fairly ranged, going from the conventional Hero and the thief friend Erik to a mysterious flamboyant juggler, a princess-turned-martial-artist, twin magicians, and others.
