cinnamon sugar biscuits

Post by spacefem » Sun Sep 27, 8:28 2015

When my sister was in middle school her home ec class made this silly "recipe" but I remembered it being so fun I wanted to make it with my daughter. We called it monkey bread but later we learned that monkey bread is this totally different thing, bread in a brown goey sauce, a total mess.

I couldn't find our recipe so I tried this from memory and it mostly worked. This is a fun kid/toddler activity.

You will need:
A small can of 10 refrigerator biscuits
Half a stick of melted butter
1/4 cup white sugar
2 tsp cinnamon

Warning:
This recipe is a work in progress, when I made it this morning from memory we used a whole stick of butter, 1/2 cup of sugar, 1T cinnamon, but I felt like we only used up like half the stuff with our little can of biscuits, I'll make this again to confirm the numbers if they're off.

Instructions:
Open biscuits and cut each one in half to make little half moons, you can ball them up too if you want.
Cover each one in butter. We painted the butter on both sides because my kid likes painting food.
In another bowl, mix up cinnamon and sugar.
Cover each biscuit in your cinnamon/sugar mixture.
Put them all on a cookie sheet and bake per the instructions on the biscuit thing, they only take about ten minutes

makes a nice breakfast with a glass of milk. ta-da!

pssst 3 tsp = 1 Tbsp so you haven't reduced the cinnamon there.

Sounds good. I'll have to try it.
