This is a perpetual topic. It won't ever be locked and you can reply to it even if it hasn't had replies in a while.

Mine started walking. :( SO not ready for two kids running around getting into things.

Stay little longer!

My just-turned-2 yr old started answering yes/no questions with a most casual1-shoulder shrug and a "Sure..."

- Do you want more milk?
- (half shrug) Sure...

My tiny 2.5 week old visited Daddy at work. He also discovered that pacifiers are an acceptable soothing aid.

My 2yo likes to do this downward dog kinda thing so she can see the world upside down I guess, so my 5yo wanted to try it too and that made me ask her if she's ever played "wheelbarrow" - she said no! So I told her to hand me a leg and I held her legs while she walked on her hands and it was hysterical, then the 2yo wanted to try it too. And she could kinda do it!

So our house is gonna have some real upper body strength.

4 year old: I overheard her Barbie tell Ken that he had a "serious revenue recognition problem" and that they needed to go to the doctor for it. (Little ears that listen when Mommy works from home combined with the doctor obsession)

3 year old: Caught me watching a sad movie and gave me a hug, kiss, and pat on the back with an "It's okay, Mommy." This is significant to me because I was starting to worry about how little this kid cares about anything, let alone others. It only took 3 years for this little boy to show empathy and respond appropriately.

5 month old: Ate about a spoonful of baby cereal? So he still only eats and poops. He's still my favorite since he can't talk back or run away. hahaha

My 11 month old has learned how to take his clothes and diaper off. Which is slightly problematic, since he really enjoys being naked and is obviously not potty trained.

I guess I better start putting him back in onesies.

My almost-3-y-o and I were in the park and I wanted yo go home, so I asked if he wanted to go home yet. He said, "no thanks, I was just there."

I'm not sure if he did anything new, but he just keeps saying new things that crack me up.

^My four year old has been doing the same thing. My husband took him out for lunch the other day, and got him orange soda as a special treat, and they had this conversation:

Kid: Mommy doesn't let me have soda.
Husband: It's okay. I'M letting you have some.
Kid: *sighs* Fine, but YOU'RE going to have to be the one to deal with me, then.

After 16 months of being terrified of baths, my child enjoyed it to the point of screaming when we tried to remove them. A water bird-whistle seems to have made all the difference in getting over that fear.

They waved a lovely well-formed hand and foot at us on the 18.5-week ultrasound. :D

My 2-year old started asking "Why?"

Now to find out how to make him stop!

Mazel tov, Gnarlbanya! Those are all definitely excellent things for a baby to do.

Our baby kicked hard enough for X to feel it! I have been waiting for DAYS to post that to this thread. :D

You are lucky! We didn't get a peep from our second until week 29-30-ish! Congrats. It's exciting and a little bit creepy ala Aliens. :P

First real bath! And first naked baby in the tub picture. He also got to meet a great grandma and 2 great great aunts. Little old ladies and babies are wonderful together. Congrats to the newborns and their parents!

Rolled over while we were watching via ultrasound.

We got the cutest video.

The 11 month old is identifying people by pointing to them when you ask where they are. I like the validation that he understands us to some degree.

Oh, rosefox, the first time the partner can actually feel the kick.. It's just so wonderful! Because all of a sudden, it's just so much more tangible for them as well!

My baby girl, two and a half weeks old, has started shedding tears.. Also, she's been awake for some time while neither crying nor eating.

I guess in the beginning these little things seem just soo big. And suddenly they start walking, running, and asking "why" @geerlady :D

Aaahh! The real tears! My heart broke when little guy had his first real tears while crying.

Social smiling happened yesterday. And the little 5.5 week old monster hit 13 pounds. He's huge! Today he's going to his first festival, too.
