Maaaaybe... <.<
Where there's smoke, there's fire. Just because you can't see it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. So just shut up, and bring some water.

NOPE
I am embracing a hatred of board games right now, and I never got into the RPG stuff, and now I don't even have to hear about it and it's GLORIOUS.

Yes, and they are so useful beyond games. Dice are a major decision making tool in this household.

Mels - I think we need a story of your most recent example.

Yup, not that I really have any idea what's happening when I play D&D. They're pretty though?

Not really a story:
My most recent example is probably my most common example. We used to "ask The Great Potato" (flip a coin) to decide which movie to watch from a list. But this only worked if we limited the list to the power of two. We've tried using cards, but the mechanics are clunky. Having excess facets of the die indicate a reroll has been a more straightforward decision. But we will still flip a coin if the choices happen to be a power of two.

Fun fact: I usually write a "dice rolling" program as the first program for any new language I write. Gets at random() functions and input/output (you get to specify how many dice and how many sides the dice have).

So mels you could use it for anything. I used to use it as a lunch decider when people wouldn't decide on where to eat.

I have my standard dice for D&D, so the answer is yes.

Anyone who watches Critical Role should be jealous of Laura Bailey's collection of 20-sided dice.
