I use a tangle teezer, which I think counts as a brush.

Both depending on the circumstances. I had to google tangle teaser. It looks like it would definitely get stuck in tangled hair but I'm probably wrong. Is it good for certain hair types?

I also looked up tangle teeser. I've seen them before in family members' households, but had assumed they were dog shedding brushes, even after seeing a little kid use one to comb their hair.

short: comb then baby brush
long: comb

it doesn't get any more stuck than any other brush! I don't think it's magic but the longhaircommunity forum had good things to say about it, I needed a new brush anyway, and if the internet tells me something is magic for especially long and/or thick hair I will almost certainly try it. (PS have the long-haired among us heard the good news of the Ficcare hair clip? Because that IS magic, for real.) The tangle teaser is fine.

i use a wide-toothed comb in the shower.
i usually let my hair air dry because it's curly and i think blow-drying makes it look less nice but if i straighten my hair (maybe 1x a week) i'll use a round brush.
