LinkedIn Revisited

Post by Sonic# » Wed May 9, 20:13 2018

So it's been at least a year since rowan made a topic about LinkedIn. That's here: viewtopic.php?f=37&t=50013&p=704255

Now I'm branching out into making a profile myself. I added skills (whaaaat?), wrote a pithy summary, added some of my acquaintances as network people (which felt odd but okay), and uploaded my resume. Did I do the thing right? Are there other things? When, if ever, has LinkedIn been useful for you? Have your views on LinkedIn changed over the past year?

It hasn't really done anything for me. The best thing I've done with it recently is linking up with fellow slutty leftists on it.

IDK I apply to a lot of things on it but never hear back from any of them. :(

I think you can ask people to write recommendations on there but I dont' know how that works?

If I'd known you could search for fellow slutty socialists on there I might not have deleted my account ;)

I'm not sure how to get full recommendations but I know that if you list your skills on there you can ask people to add their acknowledgment that yes you know how to do the thing. I think having it as a reference and second more detailed resume is linkedins greatest strength.
