Yes, when advised not to drink the tap water (in Russia) or when potable water isn't available (in USA).

i try not to buy bottled water regularly, but I do for baseball games because the stadium lets you bring in a sealed bottle and I'd rather buy it for $1 on the street outside than $4 inside (or get up to go to the water fountain a lot and miss the game. Especially when i'm sitting way at the top - going down the stairs to get water just means i need it AGAIN by the time i climb back up!)

I don't buy it myself but we occasionally have some in the house; I re-use the bottles many times before eventually recycling them.

No, unless I'm out and don't have any other option and I'm super thirsty.

My mom buys CASES AND CASES of bottled water, and I don't understand it. Especially because she lives in a place where you can drink the tap water AND she has filtered water through the fridge. Plus, she's so super into recycling and reusing - she's the kind of person who washes out Ziploc baggies to use over and over and over again. I really don't understand the bottled water thing.
Bork is too lazy to bother thinking up a witty signature. :polarbear:

Nah. I guess I could see myself doing that if I genuinely thought water wasn't safe when travelling but I don't do much of that. Buying water seems outrageous to me in the region of the country I am in where there isn't a dearth or anything.

I was on vacation overseas, and it's advised to drink bottled water and to avoid drinks with ice cubes. It's also safe to have a backup pack of bottled water in your car and house, just in case of an emergency.
